Everything about this resort was great, except for the service at one of the seafood restaurants, Oceana. Our server, Nadine, took over 20 minutes to take our order and then forgot to bring the food. We waited nearly an hour before asking another waitress to remind her to serve our meal. To make matters worse, her arrogant attitude completely ruined what would have otherwise been a perfect experience, like a bad apple spoiling the whole bunch.

Renovate this Secrets, please!
First and foremost, I want to make clear that the frontline employees did their very best to make our stay enjoyable. They work hard and deserve to be treated respectfully, by tourists AND the management. The condition of the resort was not great. There are signs of deferred maintenance all over (peeling paint, non functioning pool showers, peeling stain, cracked pavement, etc.). We were in the St James Preferred Club and when we got there, there was a pervasive smell of mold or rot in the lobby and elevators which was there the entire trip. The first room we were assigned smelled of mold or sewage and we asked for a change, which was accommodated. This deferred maintenance speaks to ownership that does not wish to invest. Skip El Patio and go to Blue Mountain, Bordeaux or Portofino for dinner instead. The breakfast and lunch buffets had plenty of options. Hop over to Breathless for dinner at Altitude.

Our Home away from Home
From the time we arrived at Sangster Airport, we were treated like we were returning home. Such a nice warm welcome! Aside from the beautiful, well-maintained property, the people at the resort truly make you want to return to the Island. They are so kind and always wanted to make sure we were good and having a good time! The entertainment crew was so much fun!! Sky, Imani and the rest of the crew truly made our vacation memorable! Thank you guys! We loved to see a local vendor on the property making and selling handmade unique wooden beautiful pieces. We were able to purchase a couple unique pieces to take home. Our vacation was Amazing from beginning to end. We will need to call out, our bed was a bit worn-out and uncomfortable. It truly needs to be replaced.

Overall good experience at the resort. The food and staff are great. What we didn’t like was the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. They were not cleaned to a 5star expectation and has a very outdated feel.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, which made all the difference. While they could improve the WiFi, everything else was simply amazing! I can't wait to return! Special shoutout to the wonderful team who went above and beyond to ensure I had a great time: the talented dancers Gee Gee, Imani, and Sashy, the awesome bartender Wendy, and the incredible dancer Chef.
