Just a little loud.

Beautiful historical character but it wasn’t very quite with older single pain windows. We heard every truck, people talking annd even one sneezing. Before you ask, yes the winders were fully closed. Also the parking was a little different with the self park being public parking. Just something for you to know before staying.

The property is very outdated but in a great location in downtown Monterey. So that is a huge plus. There is no air conditioning but they do provide an in room stand up fan. I just stayed there over this past weekend in a very cold February 2025. Outside was very cold but in the room it was extremely warm even with both windows open and the fan running. I definitely wouldn't stay here during the summer unless they put air conditioning in. The building itself has a lot of history and character. Just wish the owner would invest in some much needed updates. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. One other thing is that the breakfast was just coffee and a little bit of fruit that was gone by 9:15am. I suggest planning to have breakfast somewhere else. Oh and the property also has apartments attached to it. So that can be a little weird when you're trying to find your room and make a wrong turn. This property could be absolutely amazing with some much needed updates to it.

This building is extremely tired I would'nt know where to begin with updates. There are no amenities the lobby is the entrance hallway its a maze to find rooms it has that smell of an old dank building. Not even close to worth the money

So much old school Victorian charm here! Close to everything- food, entertainment. A two minute stroll to the ocean. Very safe location. I also loved that the heater in the room was quiet and worked great! Would definitely recommend!

It was conveniently located next to a cafe and there’s a parking garage around the corner it’s with in walking distance of most places including the wharf the hotel staff was friendly and helpful the hotel is old but clean

Hotel wax beautiful. Location not so much. Hotel close enough to canary row and acquarium though our room faced a busy street and the noise was annoying. There were blinds on high ceiling. the blinds didn’t really allow for darkness (we only realised that too late to bother changing rooms) luckily we were so tired we were able to sleep.
