Do NOT stay here. The box holding the key was not locked. There was a weird door in the kitchen. I went to the parking space to pay for parking (as directed by owner) to find my car had been towed. The space I was told to use turns into a bus lane on weekdays. BIG ticket. I found my car, my son and I were eating in the kitchen and someone opened the door! No lock on it. A man was on the other side- we had to leave. It was not safe. I messaged the agent, called- no answer, so I messaged through the VRBO app. I finally got a message that I had “nothing to worry about.” I was supposed to sleep in an apartment, with my children, that anyone could enter at any time?! We packed and as we were leaving the door to the apartment next to us was open and I got a picture of the other side, the only thing securing it a small bolt you’d find in a bathroom stall. When I got someone on the phone, they said I was mistaken, but after some discussion said he would refund my fees. 2 days- no refund, I went to VRBO customer service. They documented everything and said they would contact the owner but that it would be up to the owner what to do. Someone breached the apartment, and I had no way to stop them, yet they would take no action but to email the owner! This is NOT helping your customer. The owner told me I would be refunded then told VRBO that they would NOT refund my fees. I am out of luck, with no recourse. It is not safe, the owner lied and VRBO will not support their customers.
