We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this magical space. The photographs of this listing give a good idea of the unique architecture and style of the building, porch, and amenities, but don’t convey the beauty of this gorgeous treed property. It’s truly like a private park at the end of a road, on a peninsula edged by Army Corps land and lake. In winter you can see the glint of water through the trees, and the light shows of sunrise/sunset reflections on the water. The porch, hot tub, and firepit were our favorite parts of the property. We loved all the windows bringing nature inside even in the cold, and the privacy. Furniture was extraordinarily comfortable. Great beds! I had to move into the main house from the garage master because even the combo of space heater and unit heater couldn’t keep that space livable. The queen bed was every bit as comfortable as the king. And I had to keep visiting the cold space because of the lure of that swing chair. The couches in the living room, as well as the outdoor furniture were great as well — and the swings hung at good heights. Given the attention to quality and style in furniture and decor, we were surprised by the flimsy flatware. The induction cooktop was a treat once we figured it out. You have to hold down that unlock button for FAR longer than you’d expect. Google was required. More specifics on that in the house manual would have been helpful. A dustpan and brush or a stick vacuum would be good additions. We had indoor shoes and outdoor shoes, but wanted to keep area by doors clean. We would have appreciated an electric kettle for tea at various water temps, a powerful blender or food processor, a toaster oven. Maybe a rolling cart or buffet type piece could be added to kitchen/dining area to accommodate more kitchen goods since storage is limited. Even at 5 mph, it’s a challenging road once you pass the nearest neighbors. There was only light rain while we were there, but the road was obviously impacted, and each trip required a new route through the ruts and washed out areas.
