Misleading and unavailable

I booked this stay a few months in advance for my 50th birthday and Christmas vacation. The property owner did not respond, nor was there a place to check into the property. I called VRBO, but they were not able to get ahold of the property owner. I had to cancel my trip outside the US on Dec 22nd before my birthday and Christmas. What a nightmare! Of course, everything else was booked on the VRBO site, and we ended up spending 3x as much at a hotel that had space for our family. I recommend you go to an all-inclusive resort like Baha Mar. That resort is only 5 years old and has great excursions and amenities.

Renters beware!

Beware of a rental that doesn't show the actual outside pictures of building. The check in process is horrible with the host, the key was under a conch shell below some lock boxes. The check in procedure never arrived via email like the host said. He finally called back after numerous calls that went unanswered. No address provided. We had a VIP Transport service that lived a couple of streets over and he advised us to go elsewhere. There is a locked gate leading on to the premises but barbed razor wire and metal bars on the doors kinda gave it away. It was not on the beach but across the street on a VERY busy road. I was traveling with my wife and two teenage daughters and nobody felt safe at all so we did not stay one night. Of course there was no refund so I guess I'll chalk this up to a learning experience. I told the host that I didn't want to leave a bad review, but I must. Renter beware!

This place is a scam

We booked this place a year in advance. They asked us for a full payment a year in advance. That should have been a ted flag for me. During the course of the year I had a few email discussions with the host. The week before our stay the host quit communicating with us. We tried several times. The night before were to check in I was still not able to contact them. I contacted VRBO directly to inquire as to why we were not getting and answers from these people. At this point we finally got communication from these people. They couldnt confirm our reservation with them. Even tho we booked through VRBO paid in full and had several email conversations with the host. The morning we were supposed to check in they cancelled our reservation. We were stunned.. have used VRBO several times and never had an issue. We had to now finf a new place to stay. The host tried to direct us to another place at a higher than advertised cost. We declined and moved on. I would never ever try to book this place. This place and these people who run it are a disgrace to the Bahamas. Host if you are Bahamian you need to go back to church for trying to rip people off. People like you need to be honest and true...not deceving and stealing. I hope you get what you deserve

Tracy’s 60th birthday celebration

We could not have chosen a better spot for our weeks vacation to celebrate a big milestone. The pictures do not show how spacious the home is. We were very comfortable, love the large leather sofa and both bed were great to sleep on. We cooked twice and found everything we needed. The location is perfect with many mornings spent on the veranda, having our coffee and watching and listening to the waves. The most beautiful pictures were taking in the evening with our wine as we watch the sun go down. Location to downtown was a quick drive on W. Bay Street along the way, we’re all the shops, the banks and the grocery stores you need. Always felt safe around the neighborhood and unit is very safe. I will surely be vacationing there again and would recommend it highly.

Great place with amazing view!

The overall stay was wonderful, the place was exactly as shown in the pictures. My party and I only ran into one major issue and that was at the beginning of our stay; however, our hosts immediately cleared everything up about the location of the property. Extremely helpful and gave a great recommendation on things we needed to check out and places to eat. Definitely would love to stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! TOO MANY RED FLAGS!

THIS GOING TO BE A VERY HONEST REVIEW! This host is one of the most unprofessional host I have ever encountered. The host had a whole attitude when I asked where the key was when we just arrived. First red flag. The only good thing i would say is that its close to the beach and thats it. The place needs a proper deep cleaning. There was items from previous people that stayed there including dirty towels, leftover food and old expired seasoning from 2021. Second red flag. The host referred us to a driver that ended up scamming us for a 20 mins drive. Do not use any random taxi driver make your resource and read reviews before you call a taxi. In that building there is thiefs it’s absolutely not safe! The host also told us this location is close to everything
 ITS NOT. Its far from all the activities etc. When we told the host that we did not enjoy our experience there, i got a whole rude message calling us names etc. and blaming us LOL it’s ridiculous . if you as a host can not take critique you gotta work on yourself and should not be hosting. There are other stays in that area that are 100x better and friendlier. I honestly do not suggest to book here.

Perfect Paradise Getaway

Very clean and safe. The beach is a 1 min walk, across the street. The beach wasn't busy, as there aren't any resorts immediately beside. Will book this property again. Very please. Exceeded my expectations.

Gorgeous view, perfect place for a getaway

The property has plenty of open space. We enjoyed the ocean view, sound of the waves, sunset and moonset view from the balcony as well as the beach. Since it's located away from the big tourist spot, the beach was not crowded at all. We pretty much have the beach all to ourselves morning and evening. Good spot for snorkeling as well. Downtown and fish fry was only a bus ride away. Upon arrival, we had an issue with not receiving information about the property in time and we did not take in an account that Bahamas is international for phone call which caused a big frustration at the custom, however the host took care of us right away and once we were out of the airport everything was perfectly fine. We met two neighbors, and both were very nice and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely return to Bahamas again. Thank you for hosting.

A good stay

Don’t expect luxury, but expect more than adequate accommodations to enjoy your stay in the The Bahamas. Positives: location: about 15 min from Lyford Cay and 15 min from downtown Nassau, meaning you get anywhere pretty quickly—renting a car is easy I think would be a must. Both bedrooms have views of the water. Good hot water, nice having a washer and dryer, and parking out front is easy. AC was good and cold as was each mini-split in the bedrooms. Check in was weird—so just get confirmation of where the keys are and which key is which prior to getting there. Negatives: Just don’t expect too much—think of it as a place to sleep and you’ll be fine. Black out shades would have been nice as the sun rises very early. Unlocking 6 locks to get inside was really annoying and seemed pretty unnecessary—stairs were narrow, tall and steep. Beach across the street is pretty rocky and kind of full of seaweed—at least when we were there. The road noise is pretty loud believe it or not, especially when a semi or motorcycle drove by. Obviously no room for a pool. Not having a hose spigot outside before getting in the condo was weird—would have been nice to have a place to rinse off before getting inside. For the price however, I would recommend, it was certainly just fine for us. We appreciated the Lysol under the sink  There is a market across the street from Sandals that was fine but cheaper ones are only 5 minutes away

Excellent potential!

We had never been to Nassau and enjoyed a fantastic week exploring the island with our family! However, this place does not sleep 6 as noted online. The mattress on the Queen bed was extremely uncomfortable. We had a complicated check in after a long day of flights. The lock box was broken and it took us quite awhile to find the keys. Many items were broken or missing (toilet seat was broken, hand soap dispensers were empty, limited rolls of toilet paper, no dishwasher or laundry soap and both beach chairs were broken/unusable). Supplies were very expensive at the grocery store but the hosts had them dropped off for us upon request. A suggestion would be to have written directions on use of the remotes (one remote controlled fans/lights in both rooms). Now that we’ve bern to Nassau, we’d love to go back but would pack our own supplies!

Lavish Lifestyles - Casa del Amor Kara

In a world where customer care and service have become almost extinct , this unit the people running it were a refreshing and welcome change . From the initial communications, right through to the last minute of our stay, our hosts were there for anything and everything we needed. I had a few special requests and they did not disappoint . The unit is perfect in every way and the location over looking the sea and beach is picture perfect to say the least . All of the rooms are clean and well appointed . Good quality linens , bedding and towels . Nice large big screen TV's for those off days . The Tommy Bahama beach chairs with built in coolers and pockets for your snacks were a very nice added touch and great for going to the beach , which is right across the street. want to give Big Lito a huge shutout for all his recommendations and genuine kind heartiness . The condo is walking distance to some great oceanside dining at The Blue Sail and the Poop Deck . Grocery store is nearby as is most anything else you will need like beer and spirits . all in all we definitely recommend staying here and we will be back and will be stay with Lavish Lifestyles & Casa del Amor Kara again. Gorgeous

It was so nice to be one of the first to stay at this property. Shakara immediately replied to every message we sent with accurate and specific information. They are just starting in this business and will do well. The place was very well appointed with comfortable king and queen size beds, marble tables, and HUGE TV's. There was a TV in each bedroom and in the living area also. Large fridge and everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The tiled floors were beautiful and easy to sweep up the sand from the nearby beach so it didn't get in your shower or bed. The beach is literally across the street with rocks that contain tidepools to explore and a 1/2 mile stretch of sandy beach to enjoy. One of the best local hangouts on the island is about a block away.It is called Nesbitt's and is not only locally know but world renown for their jukebox. The food is wonderful and the prices are more than fair. The property is gated and very secure. The local bus (jitney) passes right out your front door and only costs 1.25 to go just about anywhere you want to go, Fish Fry, downtown, the Straw Market or wherever. The only downside we found was the stairs leading up to this second story unit as we are older and had to carry our luggage up. Once we were there we were amazed from the moment we opened the door, looked down the hallway and saw the ocean from our balcony. You will spend your evenings out there with a cold beverage and revel in the beautiful sunsets that the island is noted for. These two have put their heart and soul in their place and it shows with the fantastic bedding, thick plush towels, even laundry pods for you. They told us about some planned improvements they are working on and I will not disclose them here but they will make this place even more of a showcase. We try to get to the island once a year and enjoy staying different places and get to know our hosts. You will not go wrong with this property.
