The pros:
Quiet neighborhood away from Bourbon St, but easy access via streetcar just across the street.
Great restaurants within walking distance. In addition to Toups Meatery recommended by the host, we found Zasu (farm to table American), Mona's (Mediterranean), Up & Adam's (breakfast).
The Cons:
Much smaller than it appears from pictures in the listing.
No drawers for clothes and the closet was filled with sheets, brooms, a blow up mattress. All had to be moved to make the closet even slightly useful.
But the biggest drawback was the unit upstairs. I could forgive the fact that the people walked like elephants because it is an old building. But they also argued constantly and very loudly. At all hours: 2am and 3am, for instance, which made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. Our last day there a dog and friends were added to the mix. The dog howled when they argued and the friends were yucking it up until after 1am. If the host could control the neighbors, this would be a nice place. Otherwise, if you value sleep I would not recommend this property.
