Absolutely HORRIBLE place to try to stay during Mardi Gras. We arrived in NO around 7pm, knowing that MG was going on but certain that we'd be able to access our hotel. We drove around for 3 hours trying to access the hotel. We finally parked at midnight and still we're unable to check in. We called the hotel several times before reaching someone that was actually onsite. They gave a route to a barricaded area where they told us someone from the hotel would be to let is in. No one was at the area when we arrived, nor did anyone show up. We were finally able to access the hotel at 230 the following morning. We lost almost a full day that was paid for and it already overpriced. Im extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service. No one advised us as out of town guests that the hotel is inaccessible during parades forcing guest to wait hours to check in. I was even charged for 3 days of parking and I never saw the Sheraton on the first day at all. This is the 3rd time that we've stayed at the Sheraton NOLA and the 2nd and final bad experience.

Good enough is good.

The Sheraton New Orleans on Canal is hard to beat when you factor in convenience and price. Yea, it’s a dated hotel, but that does not matter. You can’t pay Sheraton prices and expect the 4 seasons. It should be enough that the beds are comfortable, the WiFi is reliable and there’s coffee in the lobby. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

The Sheraton was a great option for a two day visit to NOLA. Unlike previous reviews we found staff friendly and helpful, the room impeccably clean and up to date and well maintained. Valet parking, though not cheap, was very good and we received our car within 5-10 minutes. Great location for French Quarter and streetcar routes to Garden District. All very good!

It was only one night, but it was great as we were able to walk around downtown New Orleans. We enjoyed the nearby restaurants (dinner, breakfast, and lunch), the casino, and area sightseeing. The hotel's personnel are friendly and courteous.

We were there the week before the SuperBowl so the place was hopping! I was there to attend a conference but there was a dance competition going on in addition to a Mardi Gras event ( which is every weekend leading into Mardi Gras). With all of these events going on, there were long waits for the elevators and for those who were checking in/out. I will say the staff was gracious and patient and during lulls in providing services, they would greet and/or communicate with the customers. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Housekeeping was done daily ( I selected this option) and they always did a good job. It was my first time in NOLA and this made the trip very enjoyable. I would stay here again.
