Very cool atmosphere! Wonderful large bedrooms and coffee bar. Private and quiet and clean in a charming Minnesota town. We missed having comfy couches to sit on in the evening. Outdoor spaces seemed to be too near the private property for us to visit in privacy.
We absolutely love this living space; located in the quaint and quiet town of New Ulm, this place is built inside the original Hauenstein brewery building. Easy access and check in, immaculate inside, spacious (2) bedrooms with fireplaces, and a generous common area with essential appliances for your stay. Walking distance to the Schellâs Brewery. We canât wait to go back!
The place was a rustic looking environment. We loved it. The 2 rooms had 2 king sized beds with a fireplace and ceiling fans. The beds were so comfortable. The bathroom was very clean. Plenty of towels. It was nice that the owners left goodies and a few beers for us to drink. We would stay here again in the near future. Thank You!!
Property was as advertised. Very clean. Bedrooms are spacious. Gathering area doesnât have much seating. We brought lawn chairs to supplement seating based on past reviews. The owners do provide wooden chairs too.
Nice renovated historical place, but lacking a few things
The place was lacking convenient comfortable seating inside and out for the three of us. It would be nice to have a patio area by the entrance of the room to just step out for a morning cup of coffee or enjoy the weather outside. Otherwise, you had to walk the long way around the building to the patio area, which is shared with the owners. Felt like we were intruding or would be watched as there are big windows of the owner's dining room by this shared patio area. Inside, sitting on the stools by the table could be tolerated for a short time. Not a place to relax and chill. Snacks provided were expired. Showers were nice. Beds were comfortable. We were accused of stealing a mug, which for some odd reason was found behind the frig. Interesting that it didn't break IF it fell back there as the flooring is concrete. The accusation seemed suspicious. We left the used mugs on the countertop. Not near the frig or edge of the counter. Nonetheless, I'm glad they found it. They would have charged for a full set of 5 mugs to replace. Beware of this. Don't take anything on purpose or accidentally. You will get charged. No apologies was given after the mug was found. Will not stay here again.
We loved staying at the old Hauenstein brewery. Beautiful accommodations within walking distance to Schellâs and not far from downtown. The bed was so comfortable! Mojra was great at communicating. We would love to return.
A beautiful place to stay, thank you.
Only suggestion would maybe be a few more places to just sit and visit and/or a bigger table with chairs to sit and share some takeout.
Thanks for your hospitality!
The Old Hauenstein Brewery was a great oasis for our exploration of MN. It was quiet, clean, well furnished with every amenity we needed and more. It would be a super getaway retreat for 2 couples.
The bed was incredibly comfortable. We loved the photos, blueprint and doors from the old brewery.
We visited New Ulm to see the MN Music Hall of Fame and found a lovely small-town-America downtown surrounded by lots of history (great local history museum). It is an easy drive to the Lower Sioux Agency in Morton to learn about the Dakota War and they provided a super map to explore additional Native American sites. Our dive into MN history was accompanied by a visit to the Schell Brewing biergarten and some German food at the Turner Hall Rathskeller.
A very enjoyable weekend. Everyone we met and talked with were super nice and friendly.
Our stay at Hauenstein Brewery was so much more than we were expecting! Mojra is so welcoming! Even the neighbors are super friendly and excellent ambassadors for New Ulm! The VRBO is beautiful and very comfortable. Mojra had snacks, coffee, water, even Hauenstein beer available to us for no extra cost! The grounds are beautiful and have so much history. This VRBO is a must-do for history buffs especially if you're a brew fan!!
We enjoyed the uniqueness of this place! Very clean. We loved the unique touches in the rooms- the bricks, the old cooler door. Very cool!
There is no AC, but it did stay cool. Wishing there was a sitting area with TV in the main shared space. Also would be cool if there was a little table and chairs to sit right outside the door to the space instead of having to go clear around the back.
overall this was a great place to stay! We would be back.
Very cool old property thatâs updated . Beds were amazing . Shower was great ! Easy access to building. Great parking , hosts were very easy to talk with . We will be back
Great Property! Just two of us for the weekend, but there was another large bedroom with a king bed as well. The place was recently renovated and looked immaculate. The fridge was stocked with water, sparkling water, and even a couple Hauenstein lagers. There was also plenty of coffee and snacks. Great place to stay and enjoy the local parks, breweries and restaurants. We will definitely be back!
Beautifully remodeled, and a very walkable area. Even though it was chilly, we could easily walk downtown and to Schells. The sleeping rooms are very posh and cozy, but there really isnât a common area to sit on a couch and sip coffee.
