Broken fridge (and false advertisement). Impossible to get a hold of property management. It ruined the first 24 hours of the trip. Very stressful. Lost value of hundreds of dollars in groceries that spoiled. Promised to compensate me, but have been giving me the run around since with no resolution. Spent hours on phone with their “call center” that’s not local and begging them to put me in contact with someone local or give me their number myself. They refused and after 45 min of arguing, was given to a supervisor or got a hold of the local team but still I couldn’t get the local contact info and had to be routed through their internal system each time I called, having to repeat the problem
Furniture overwhelming smell of urine (dog pee?). And dog hair all over your clothes. Complained on first day, told they’d send cleaners, never came. Couldn’t enjoy the patio sectional sofa outside due to overwhelming smell of urine as well.
The entire place is like putting lipstick on a pig. The pictures online make it look upgraded clean and beautiful. In reality, the fancy Viking fridge is old, even if working the drawers inside are all broken, dirty. Dog hair and pee noted above. Clogged bathroom sink. Dirty (like full of sand) Tupperware in cabinets. Very disappointed. I’ve rented houses on Balboa island many times as it’s a great staycation location, I will not only never book this one again, but STAY AWAY FROM ANY PROPERTY MANAGED BY VACASA.
