We have stayed 3 times before this. And never seen this sort of experience for check in. It was a disaster honestly the que was round the main room. When we got there a few people had issues so the check in or there rooms. Quinn with two neuro divergent children was awful to get to the front and be told there isn’t a room available. Yet the couple with two children after us there room was done. We were told to wait. We got there at just before 3 and didn’t get checked in till nearly 4. That to me isn’t ok. The kids by then were dis regulated and it wasn’t the trip we had experienced or have had before.

Hotel was fantastic, staff excellent, food brilliant, room lovely, spa great but busy when we went, signage around the hotel was lacking and due to the long winding corridors, it took us a couple of days to work out the most efficient routes between A & B.

The hotel was a fantastic old building, our room was sizeable enough, however the cons were: Step in bath/ shower, ripped period chair, furniture, chipped. It was booked as a stopover hotel and suited our needs.

New year eve check in was utter chaos understandably busy but all the same disorganised. Only one small lift for any room access totally inadequate. Asking room cleaning to return after 30 minutes returned late to find room not serviced at all. All in all hotel generally ok but not New Year’s Eve!

Staff are nice. They offered me free room upgrade because of 20 mins late and decorate the room for our anniversary. Which is great. Only thing i am disappointed is there is no fridge in the room and no water or toiletries supplement apart from hand wash and shower gel.

Fantastic
A lovely hotel in beautiful grounds with great amenities. Rooms were clean and comfortable and well equipped. Leisure facilities were lovely offering opportunities to relax. Food was delicious. Overall a brilliant stay.

Didn’t get room we payed for, no robes left for spa told just to use towel!! Ordered steak which comes with sauce, brought food no steak sauce told ran out so brought extra chips which were awful warmed up, not offered alternative then saw customers after I ate have sauce to go with steak, bought this as a gift for my son but embarrassed to send him there. I’ve been previously and thought it was amazing that’s why I booked for him and partner. Never again

Reception staff pleasant on check in and out. Bar staff in main lounge polite and friendly. Spa lounge staff friendly, however after ordering coffees, forgot to make them and had to chase. Apologies offered. Several tables in the main lounge/bar area needed cleaning. in there. Communal areas were chilly. Room 215, large room, very warm, the Bed a was so comfortable.
