We are a group of 10...aged mid-fifties to early 70's...all couples. In the last several years we've been traveling together and when it was time to choose a destination for 2019, my sister and I suggested Eleuthera because we were there about 35-40 years ago. After much research we found Windchat Villas.
We arrived at the airport (ELH), got our rental vehicles, and met Del the caretaker of Windchat. We followed him 'home' for about 1.5 hours stopping for groceries and liquor in town. He was friendly, helpful, courteous, and made our stay perfect.
When we arrived with luggage and groceries, the gardeners and cleaning lady, Millie, came to greet us and carried everything in for us so we could start our vacation. Since there are 2 homes on the property, luggage and groceries were carried back and forth until everything was in the right spot.
The property is spotless thanks to the gardeners outside and Millie inside. The views are amazing and the pool area can't be beat.
In my communications with Ken during the planning stages, his responses to my questions about everything from coffee pots to cake pans to pool floaties were answered promptly. When he found out that several of us are cooks he eagerly shared suggestions for local restaurants, told me about the grocery stores, and said everything we would need for cooking or baking is at Windchat. We were impressed with the quality of cookware, utensils, dishes, serving bowls / trays, etc.
The privacy and safety we wanted came in our stay at Windchat.
The week was spent exploring, cooking, baking, eating, swimming, drinking, and enjoying this secluded property. One day we took a boat to Harbour Island...about a 10 minute boat ride away, rented golf carts and did some exploring there. One evening a member of our group hired a local chef, Shauna, to cook dinner for us and it was wonderful. She grilled lobster, bar-b-que chicken, salad, a rice dish, macaroni and cheese, and a chocolate cake for dessert. It was heavenly.
We all highly recommend Windchat Villas...and you won't be disappointed.
Happy Travels,
