Répit pour les couples qui ont sérieusement besoin de recharger leur batterie. Avec un magnifique lit de 6 pieds, une salle de bain attenante et une vue imprenable sur la mer. Vous disposez d'un 60 m². piscine, baignade sérieuse, climatisation, WiFi 4G, DVD et CD Bose. La détente est garantie dans ce havre indépendant. Niché au sommet d'un contrefort de Sao Miguel, le plus haut sommet de l'est de l'Algarve, avec une vue panoramique imprenable sur la mer (à 15 minutes), votre chalet s'étend sur des zones couvertes privées qui comprennent un barbecue à gaz ou à charbon, une cuisinière supplémentaire et une table de marbre géante . La vue sur l'Atlantique et les montagnes derrière nous est magnifique, à la fois depuis le chalet et autour de la piscine. Les grands jardins matures, avec des figuiers, des citronniers et des orangers et une pelouse sont à vous pour profiter en privé.
Mon pack de bienvenue est légendaire parmi mes invités, je suis cuisinier de Cordon Bleu et tout est fait maison. À votre arrivée, vous aurez du vin, de la bière, du poulet, du houmous, du pâté de foie de poulet, de la mayonnaise, du jus d'orange fraîchement pressé, ou quoi que ce soit que je décide de faire.

So durchwachsen. FINCA gebucht. Diese wird aber von der Eigentümerin selbst bewohnt. Als Einliegerwohnung hatten wir 1 Raum. In diesem war eine in die Jahre gekommene Küche. 1 Bett. Schrank war im Badezimmer. 1 Ecke zum Fernsehen. Nur gab es nicht einen einzigen deutschen Sender. In der Bildergalerie war ein schönes Bad abgebildet. Leider nicht unser Bad sondern ein Bild von der neu errichteten Unterkunft. Wenn mehr als 2 Gäste von einer Familie mitreisen kann man das mitbuchen. Ich gebe bei der Filtersuche an, daß ich eine Finca und nicht ein Appartement suche. So etwas ist unmöglich und ist uns in all den Jahren noch nicht passiert seit wir bei Fewo buchen. So kann man etwas nicht anbieten

Peaceful, relaxing and quiet.
Very private accomodation with no disturbance apart from the odd visit from a very friendly Bear (not that kind). Who can be kept away if you so wish. We would normally go to Lidl and stock up before we arrive at a property but Joan warned us to see what our welcome pack consisted of first. I'm glad we heeded her advice as it kept us going for a couple of days. I'll not go into details as I'm sure it changes with seasonal availability but I guarantee it won't be disappointing. The studio/cottage has all a cook needs in the kitchen and outside you have a choice of a charcoal or gas BBQ. One fridge outside and another inside gives enough room for fresh food and drink. Privacy is high on the agenda with Joan keeping out of the way unless you want to speak to her but she is very welcoming and attentive of any requests. The pool is close to the accommodation, up a few steps. It's adjoined to the main villa but very private and peaceful - no interruptions again. Joan apologised for the weather, so I'm holding her responsible for the sunshine on our next visit as we'll definitely be back and I'm looking forward to a social drink with her because I know she's sitting on some excellent tales. Thanks Joan for being a wonderful host and look after yourself!

A haven in the hills
Wow what a place to spend a week! The cottage is delightful, views amazing day and night, huge pool in lovely gardens and patio area. Joan our host and Xana her friend are really lovely people. From before we arrived everything was sorted with full instructions on how to find the property. When we did arrive the welcome package was AMAZING!! Quite used to getting nothing on arrival, well we had a roast chicken, pork stroganoff, salad, water, wine, bread , eggs and ice plus a fab stock cupboard full of useful bits. In short, the place is excellent. Clean, quiet and simple. What more do you need…. Lovely local restaurants, supermarket 5 mins away, you do need a car. Shared G&T’s with Joan on a couple of evenings. What a lady, wish we had longer, we will be back.

Fantastic accommodation in a stunning location.
The cottage is in a fantastic location, only 30 mins from Faro airport and the charming towns of Loule, Olhoa, Fuseta and Tavira, set on high ground with uninterrupted views to the coast. We arrived to find the accommodation immaculately clean, and it included a very well equipped kitchen, 2 barbeques and a huge marble table on the terrace where we spent many relaxing evenings. The icing on the cake was the very generous welcome pack that Joan provided, which included a couple of delicious home cooked meals and enough other food and drink to keep us going for a number of days. The pool is excellent, located only a few steps up from the apartment, easily the largest we have enjoyed in a private hiring, with loads of sun loungers to choose from and amazing views towards the east Algarve coast. Joan is a charming host, very discreet but readily available if we required any advice about local places to visit. We had a couple of hugely enjoyable evenings in her company sharing a bottle of wine. True to Joan's word, we were the only guests and had the place to ourselves. All in all, we absolutely loved our stay. It was very relaxing and stress free, largely thanks to the huge effort Joan had put into making the cottage comfortable and well appointed. We like to travel to different places, but having enjoyed our time here so much we are already talking about when we can return to Casa Monte do Cerro for another stay. Thank you Joan for a wonderful holiday!

Erholung pur!
Wer Ruhe und Privatsphäre sucht ist hier goldrichtig. Die entzückend eingerichtete Unterkunft liegt auf einem Hügel mit Blick von der Terrasse direkt aufs Meer. Die Terrasse ist quasi uneinsehbar und es gibt keine Nachbarn. Den traumhaft schönen Pool hat man für sich allein - so, wie auch all die Liegen und Stühle und den Platz unter dem alten Johannisbrotbaum. Auch von hier gibt's einen freien Blick auf das Meer. Das Appartement ist besser ausgestattet, als alles was wir bisher gesehen haben: Nespressomaschine, 2 Kühlschränke, ein Hahn für Trinkwasser aus dem eigenen Brunnen - 2 Glasflaschen standen bereits für uns im Kühlschrank - Spül- + Waschmaschine, Föhn etc. Alles was wir uns sonst mitbringen bzw. am ersten Tag einkaufen gehen war bereits vorhanden: Wäscheleine und Klammern, Reisenähzeug, div. große Messer, Essig, Öl, Salz und Pfeffer, Kaffee, Tee und noch so viel mehr. Ja, und dann hatte Joan auch noch ganz köstlich für uns gekocht (stand in unserem Kühlschrank) und einige frische Sachen eingekauft. Selbst kalte Getränke warteten im Kühlschrank auf uns als wir mitten in der Nacht ankamen. Was für ein Empfang! Und auch wir können nur bestätigen, dass Joan einfach wunderbar ist. Sie wohnt auf dem Grundstück, man trifft sich aber dennoch nicht zufällig, es sei denn man möchte. Wir haben per WhatsApp kommuniziert und 2 herrliche Abende mit ihr verbracht. Herzliche Grüße an dich, liebe Joan! :-)

beautiful cottage and a great swimming pool and lovely grounds.my first night my host joan had a lovely welcome pack so i did not have to go shopping dill the next day. the cottage had everything for cooking as i did a lot of cooking .what more could you ask for.i had nice drinks with my host joan and her two dogs sarah and Bear there are so nice.I had a wonderful time of peace and quite here and i will be back again soon all the best joan thanks

Fantastic Holiday
This is a lovely part of Portugal, very peaceful and with a very friendly atmosphere. Joan, the owner, is a fabulous hostess and does everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Super Relaxing Time
A perfect hillside retreat where you can spend time relaxing in the beautiful garden and swimming in the generously sized pool. The Cottage has everything you need for your stay including WiFi and Multiple British TV Channels and Netflix. Our Host Joan Graham had prepared a delicious welcome pack including roast chicken, fresh bread, home made humous and pate.Also wine! So handy when arriving after your journey. The Cottage is close by car to the local towns with really nice restaurants.We certainly recommend Olhao, Moncarapacho and Fuzeta to eat out. This is our 14th time staying at the Cottage.We love it. We both had a peaceful relaxing break once again.

My Piece of Heaven
Wonderful location with stunning views. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. It is so peaceful and calm the perfect place to unwind and recharge your batteries. Not forgetting the glorious swimming pool we hardly ever got out of! And last but definately not least the inimitable Joan our Host and what a Host. Kind,helpful and so much fun. Amazing as ever
We returned again for what would be our 8th visit (maybe more!!). We absolutely love the location of this cottage. We love the relaxing feel it give as soon as we arrive. The cottage owner Joan is amazing, lovely, very friendly and accommodating despite this being a self catered cottage. As Joan lives on site, it can be easy to forgot this is "self catered". Joan leaves you plenty of provisions to start your holiday, We always buy more when we runs out, we wouldn't expect Joan to keep providing! The welcome hamper, which is above and beyond what we would normally receive in a self catered cottage. I'd go as far to say this is exceptional and very impressive. They is an honesty bar/fridge by the pool, you can help yourself to beer/coke/wine etc and leave the required payment or replace what you've used when you go to the shops. We hire a car as the town is about 1 mile away, however the local taxi company is very amenable. The town of Moncarapacho is about a 15/20 min walk away, passing beautiful scenery as you go. The cottage is equipped well, a gas & charcoal BBQ, private seating area, dishwasher and washing machine! I know right - Amazing! We had some friends come to stay and they stayed in the adjoining bedroom, no through walk way, so still private, but another room off to the left with an ensuite and small courtyard with tea & coffee and fridge etc. Great for parties of 4, you can share the outside space and kitchen. My understanding is it's only let exclusively to friends and not to people you don't know, so you have the run of the amazing "large" pool and surrounding terrace/garden space. Love love love this place, so much so we are returning in September, cannot wait. :o) Gary & Lisa Sanders Leicestershire

Perfect Holiday
This was our second visit to Cassa D'Alegria, for a much needed relaxing holiday and once again we were not disappointed. The facilities provided, which includes privacy, extremely comfortable accommodation, a superb welcome pack, exclusive use of a large swimming pool, private terrace complete with panoramic sea views, delightful gardens and surroundings offer a peaceful and tranquil ambience and this is not to mention the most enjoyable company and hospitality of our host Joan, whom we shared some memorable times with. We enjoyed the locality particularly the many fine restaurants in Olhao, Moncarapacho, Fuseta and surrounding district. The accommodation enables you to choose how you want to spend your time, either quiet days/nights in and to BBQ, or to visit a local restaurant or to enjoy sociable evenings with Joan and friends, which we found most enjoyable. All in all, we found the entire experience to be thoroughly enjoyable and we have already booked for next year and with a possibility of returning sooner. We cannot praise this accommodation high enough!

Paradise!
This is our fourth visit in a row to this piece of paradise! From the moment you arrive you feel so relaxed, happy and at home. Joan really is the most wonderful host and one of the reasons we keep coming back. Her welcome packs are out of this world, homemade pate, avocado dip and hummus just to mention a few. As well as freshly squeezed orange juice, bread, milk and wine...all meaning you don’t have to leave for a few days or think about cooking. My Mum even said she would travel weekly from Hereford to receive such delicious treats! There are so many reasons why we come back - the setting, the gardens, the big pool, the dogs and of course sharing drinks and giggles on the terrace with Joan. There is everything and more that you need here, we enjoyed bbqs the evenings we stayed in, listening to music and sitting on the spacious terrace. We can’t praise Joan highly enough, it really is paradise. See you next year xxx

Misleading information on property description
Joan is a very friendly, kind and knowledgeable hostess and her welcome pack was one of the best we've ever had. This makes it difficult to be critical of the accommodation itself, which we found disappointing. The good points are the very comfortable bed, the sea views, the covered terraces and the fridge on the terrace. We had fabulous weather during our stay. We think that the property description is misleading. Hilltop Cottage isn't a cottage with one bedroom. A more accurate description would be a basement bedsit or studio apartment. The bed is in a curtained alcove and the access to the shower room is next to the bed. The shower is pretty grim - it's a small, curtained shower tray probably 80x80 cms. Clothes storage is a small wardrobe in the shower room. The living area is exactly as shown in the photograph, i.e. a sofa and TV. The kitchen area is fine but over-loaded with equipment. There wasn't a Nespresso as described, it's a filter coffee machine. There's insufficient cutlery or glasses if one wants to use the dishwasher. The pool is outside the main house on the level above the rental property. It's just a short walk up to the pool but this isn't clear on the property description. "You have a 60 sq.m. 'private' pool" suggests it's "your pool". It's not at all clear that it's located on what is effectively a neighbouring property. Joan deserves the personal praise she has in her reviews but I'm afraid this style of accommodation isn't for everyone, and if the listing were made more accurate then it would save disappointment.

Getting away for a proper break.
Perfect for those who don’t mind being a little out of the way. Perfect bolt hole to relax and unwind. We have been coming to the Algarve fo 15 years and love Moncarapacho. There are beautiful beaches to explore at Barril and Tavira island. Tavira town is stunning with plenty of good restaurants. The villa is small but perfectly formed as they say. Everything you need is there and if it’s not, I’m sure Joan would help you get it.

Excellent hospitality swimming pool and generosity with wecoming food and wine
We arrived and were made most welcome. The owner left excellent food with houmous, salmon mouse, cooked chicken, fruit and wine. We were invited to drinks with the owner. The apartment was spotless with every cooking utensil. The swimming pool,was in excellent condition. The owner kindly booked taxis and dinner reservations on our behalf. Relaxing Escape
Although a little remote - meaning car hire is essential -Joan is the perfect host and the cottage has everything you need. The Welcome Pack is excellent and despite it being February we loved having breakfast on the patio every morning. We also visited Lisbon for a few days (a very easy and affordable train journey from Fuseta) which is one of Europe's greatest (and cheapest) capitals. The dogs are friendly (we're not dog owners) and do not intrude. Joan is extremely hospitable and we enjoyed having drinks and dinner out one Sunday with her and friends. It really is a home from home but with far better weather! We will return...

A lovely relaxing place to stay
What can we say about Joan, that hasn't already been said. Such a lovely warm welcome on top of the fantastic food hamper that we were greeted with. The cottage is very cosy, comfortable and has everything you need to have a great holiday. It was my 60th birthday while there, and Joan very kindly hosted a party for me and invited some lovely friends and using the fabulous BBQ-ing facilities, we all had a great evening. Thank you Joan for making my birthday special. The dogs, Bella, Bear and Bogalina were always on hand for our doggy fix while away from ours. So if you are looking for a relaxing, rustic beautiful place to holiday, look no further, you won't be disappointed. Joan's warm welcome is worth the price on its own. Mark and Jill

Cosy apparment
We had a lovely week in the appartment in Moncarapacho. Inside there is everthing you need, to cook etc. The terras is also good whit the huge marble table and sun and shadow. Swimming pool whit lots of chairs and a stunning view. And i forgot the excellent bed in the apparment. Charming, beautiful views, lovely pool, very welcoming owner, lots of privacy...
Totally relaxing, beautiful property within short driving distance of local village and other area attractions. The owner, Joan, is a gem! Her welcome basket of wine, chicken, seafood spread and snacks were a real treat. There is a charming tableau everywhere you look about the property... tables with candles for sitting and chatting over an evening cocktail, bistro lights hung overhead. Bougainvillea bloom everywhere and the sun kissed villa sits atop a hill overlooking the sea. The fresh air is wonderful and there is a lovely breeze.,,, So relaxing..... perfect for the travelers who want something different from the usual hotel or tourist experience. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedroom was cozy and the bed itself was amazingly comfortable. Nice hot shower, washing machine if you need it. Joan has put together the perfect relaxing getaway for her guests. One feels like a welcome friend with complete freedom to enjoy the property as you wish. We truly hated to leave and hope to return!

Where to start! We without question love this Hilltop Cottage (our 2nd visit this year!). Nestled on a hilltop just outside the quaint town of Moncarapacho with outstanding views. Joan, the owner and hostess with the absolute mostess is an total gem and the cherry on top of this spectacular property. Joan's hospitality knows no bounds and she makes you feel very very welcome. Despite this being a self catering stay, Joan goes out of her way to give you lots of information prepare about the area and provides the most amazing welcome hamper, something she doesn't need/have to do, but goes the extra mile to ensure that her guests have the best start to their holiday. It's such a lovely personal touch. Thank you Joan. The cottage has everything you need for outdoor and indoor living, seating areas, bbq, gas and charcoal (yes she even provides gas). Again self catering, so this is another personal touch. The pool is the biggest I've seen and the outside area and garden are just lovely. Sit and relax in the Portuguese sun and just let the stress slip away. Chairs, sunbeds, in the shade out of the shade, lots of places to let the hours tick by. Joan is very knowledgeable about the local area and has left information in the cottage on places to go, where to eat etc etc. We were able to book a taxis as we wanted to go out and have a drink and not have the hassle of driving, again information in the information booklet. I would say a car is essential as there is so much to do and see (if you don't want to chill by the pool that is!). However using taxi's to and from the airport and while you are there is also possible. The beach is about 3 miles away in Fuseta and Joan has kindly left cool bags, beach umbrella's in the cottage for your use. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we've booked to go back twice next year. I can honestly say we've never felt so relaxed on holiday before. I've told all my friends about this amazing little cottage, but only have securing my own bookings for 2019. *Highly Recommend* From a very relaxed Lisa & Gary xxx

Paradise revisited , cant say more than that really
This was our 5th visit to Joan’s wonderful villa and we have already booked for next year. The villa, the pool, the grounds and the all round views are second to none. If you want a relaxing chilled out holiday this is the place for you plus the weather is fantastic all year round. If you hire a car you can easy access the motorway which takes you to anywhere you want to go in the Algarve. Moncarapacho is a small village but it has everything you could want, restaurants, supermarket and plenty of shops. The lifestyle there is very laidback and relaxed, you can do as much or as little as you want. The beaches near by are absolutely gorgeous and we would recommend the ones in Villamoura and Quiteira. Restaurants we would recommend are Antonio’s in Moncarapacho, Lagar Mesquite in Sao bras and BJ’s near Quiteira. For us, Joan is absolutely brilliant, we have now become very close friends, she will help you with anything you want, directions , taxi hire and recommending restaurants and places you might like to visit, she is not intrusive at all but she is there if you need her. Our holiday would not be the same without her, we love Joan and her friends and dogs and cat .Joan wants you to have the best holiday you can and she will do whatever to make it so. For us it’s a little piece of paradise which delivers everything we need and look forward to many more holidays there.

Heaven
This hilltop cottage with its magnificent views captures the true Algarvian way. Tranquil unique and truly wonderful. The host provides a fantastic welcome pack so on your 1st day there is no need to rush out to shop. Nothing is too much trouble however, this is self catering so you will need to buy loo rolls etc at some stage. The pool is inviting and there is a fabulous Carob tree to get some shade. If you do book we can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Excellent welcome pack. Friendly welcome. Looked after by Bear, Bogalina, Bella, leopod and off course Joan. Everything you need for comfortable and relaxing stay. Lovely swimmimg pool.
