We enjoyed a quiet stay at this tidy, modest beach house. The fresh, crisp white bedding and towels were great. The view and beach access (via a short trail at the corner of the lot—towards the public access) were great. The windows were hard to open and close but the ocean breezes were worth the bother. The little kitchen had a good stock of bowls and dishes, but it’s necessary to bring your own oil, salt and pepper and while you’re at it being a sharp chopping knife. The nearby village of Owl’s Head is charming and the lighthouse there is a rewarding g and short walk. The house is also just minutes to Rockland which is one of our favorite towns in Maine, so it’s a great house to just relax in all day and take in the view and air or to explore the region. We enjoyed our stay!
