Staff were great, breakfast good. Not worth the money, room had marks on the skirting, stains on carpet and old furniture that was chipped. Corridors are dirty. Whole place needs updated and washed down.

NO WIFI in 2019, why? All the hotels in Pitlochry have a fast internet connection but not in Scotland Hotel, there is no signal for a connection despite the WIFI normally in this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with WIFI avoid the Scotland Hotel.

Not worth the money - very tired hotel

Cons: This hotel needs major investment and overhaul. The staff could do with customer service training
Location: The town is great, good places to relax, eat and shop and the country side is amazing. I love it.
booked into a family room for 1 night in Jan 2017. Hotel staff very slow to help/ check in. The hotel itself was very smelly in the main reception area - bad drains/ sewage?? not good. The room itself was not as listed or expected for 100 pounds - the carpet was very dirty, the wardrobe had no doors, none of the windows could be closed - the hotel had used silicone sealant to bung up a 1 to 2 cm gap all around each window, the silicone was old and moldy and burst which made the room very noisy and cold. The bathroom was not much better. We went to reception and ask for another room, we were offered two (good point), both were still poor but we settled for a room in the Bank house which was the best of a bad bunch. However, the people staying in the room next to us were heavy smokers and decided to smoke in the entrance area with the main access door open. This made our room and all our clothes stink! we again went to reception to alert them to this major problem and were fobbed off by the staff with a lack of interest, and were looked at as if we were mad or raising issues which were trivial! not impressed and I couldn't get out quick enough. Breakfast was ok, pool was dirty with loose tiles, hallways were smelly and tired..... and lots and lots more.

A quick night after the theatre !

Pros: Staff
Location: Very near town centre
Nice hotel with very friendly staff ! We did not eat in the evening as were eating at the theatre . Room was very nice and the bed really comfortable . The fire alarm went off at around midnight and we were fast asleep .we vacated room and then went outside with other guests ,if was a false but I have to say the staff could not have been more professional in every aspect ,so a big well done . Breakfast was really nice and again all staff very helpful !

Ideal for what we needed

Pros: The pool, breakfast was good except for hearing the staff swearing !
Cons: Needed a lot of maintenance doing also a detachable shower head
Location: Excellent lovely place

Pitlochry Visit

Pros: Looks good from the outside
Cons: Service in the dining room, speed it up.
Location: Pitlochry is in an excellent place to visit areas around we got a booklet form Tourist Information and visited castles other small towns etc
The hotel itself was fine, but could do with being refurbished. The main area I think they let themselves down was in the dining room. When arriving for breakfast it was clear there was insufficient staff to deal with those requiring service as once seated you would wait and wait and usually have to catch a member of the waiting staff to ask when you would have your order taken. More often than not you were waiting between 20 and 25 minutes before your order was taken. For this very reason I would not book here again or recommend. We were all set to ear in the hotel at night time but changed our mind following the breakfast service and ate elsewhere within the town.

Close to centre of Pitlochry

Very comfortable room, quite, clean and well appointed. Hearty breakfast .... quite a feast! Nice staff, very friendly. Ample car parking. A good Base to explore the Cairngorms from.
