Extremely Disappointing
First and foremost they lied in the ad- there is NO internet service. That was a dealbreaker for us, being that we're a 5- person working family who all had to have service. It was advertised as having internet- we complained from the get-go, but to no avail. Still nothing by the time we checked out on the 4th day. There was also no TV, because "the owner hadn't paid the bill." So we had to hassle about that. Finally got something on day 2. The house is old but spacious and decently appointed; it could use some TLC. It seemed tired and neglected. The floor was not clean, and there was a lot of dust as well as many insects when we arrived. It seemed as though the home has not been lived in for some time/ it smelled musty. It was extremely hot, especially upstairs as there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. We asked for fans but the property manager said he could not get us any until the next day, which he did do. Needless to say the 1st night was a sleepless one for all of us. Note: bring all your own supplies as there is not even a piece of soap. Beware as the property manager will barge in without notifying you, no matter the time of day or night. Although there was no check-in time limit, and because we arrived late in the evening due to travel issues, the same manager tried to get us to stay the first night in Jeffrey's Bay where we ate dinner. No matter that we'd paid for the night. We of course insisted that he meet us there when we arrived or leave us a key. He eventually relented and met us there. The leasing company informed us that we had not paid when in fact we'd paid the entire amount to VRBO in August. They clearly do not know what they're doing. So all-in-all, not a relaxing holiday. Too much hard work in getting the place up and running. Might have been better for a long stay, although not without internet or AC - dealbreakers in this day and age! Very disappointing stay in Plett. We'll know for next time.
