The elite pool was wonderful. The staff were very friendly. The language barrier was difficult at times. Only a few could understand English. The walking distance to the beach was short. The food could definitely be improved. Very few vegan options. Pack some protein for yourself!!

Because our plane got delayed, we arrived less than 24 hrs from check in. We were told that our room was re sold and we have to find a different place (Riu was full). No help or options were given Our room was bought and paid a month in advance I ended up spending another 2000 USD so we wouldn't sleep on the street I text then RIU (the next day as was less than 24 hours from chek in with no response Basically they double dipped, sold my paid room and left us in a different country with no accommodation This is unethical, dishonest and a lack of the minimal sense of customer service Unfortunately i has been many times in RIU, but have seen the significant worsening in the lase 15-20 years

Great stay

It was a great stay overall. I will stay there again if I am back to Punta Cana. One thing the hotel could improve is booking. We booked a junior suite with two rooms connected inside the suite, but they gave us two separate rooms. They changed us on the next day, but they should not have done it.

The hotel is perfect but the only problem that I have is the bad odor coming from one of the green areas and a funny smell at the lobby. Other that everything else is perfect. Definitely coming back.

The hotel was in excellent condition following recent renovations. The beach, while stunning, was quite crowded during this season. I would rate the food a 2 out of 5, as it lacked a professional touch. The staff were moderately friendly. However, my most disappointing experience was the cleanliness of the towels in my room and the beach towel. On several occasions, I had the unsettling feeling that the towels had merely been dried rather than properly washed, which was quite off-putting. I addressed this issue with the manager, who seemed to be aware of the situation and offered his apologies. Consequently, I have decided not to return to a Riu hotel in the future.
