Amazing Getaway
Our stay couldn’t have been better and exceeded our expectations! The detailed communications from Bruce and Gail, which included arrival directions, amenities, and last day information, made our stay at the cabin stress free. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. We were even welcomed with fresh baked bread! We were treated like family, rather than guests. Thank you so much, Gail and Bruce.

A little piece of heaven
Our stay at the ranch was wonderful. The cabin was just as described with little touches that were much appreciated. We enjoyed the quiet mornings on the porch and the refreshing swims in the pool. Was the perfect place for my husband and I to unwind and relax. If you are looking for a peaceful place to land this is it.

We had a wonderful time at Surfing Cowboy Ranch! Bruce and Gail were amazing hosts. The cabin was clean and comfortable and stocked with all the necessities. The view from the bedroom is so beautiful and relaxing. Highly recommend this spot for a fun and romantic getaway.

Mother/Daughter Weekend Getaway
My daughter and I spent a couple nights in this adorable cabin celebrating her earning her Masters Degree. Gail was so thoughtful to have graduation decorations out when we arrived along with a delicious carrot zucchini bread. We enjoyed horseback riding nearby, spending a day in Julian visiting tea and pie shops, exploring LaJolla, and surfing Tourmaline in San Diego. The location was fantastic, the cabin was immaculate, and the hosts were so wonderfully thoughtful. Our stay could not have been better.

My wife and I stayed at Surfing Cowboy Ranch for 7 nights in late Feb. It was the perfect base camp for us to visit my sister in Escondido, hit the tide pools at Point Loma, explore Anza-Borrego desert state park, visit Silverwood Audubon Preserve, and hike several of the nearby trails (Iron Mtn, Mt. Woodson, Ramona Grasslands Preserve). Just minutes from Ramona. Found an excellent Thai restaurant (Pinto Thai) in Ramona. The cabin was great! Spotlessly clean, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed. We got in late the first night and were greeted with a welcome note, homemade zucchini bread and fresh butter! Bruce & Gail (and their 2 dogs) were excellent hosts. They treated us like family. Spent every morning with a cup of coffee wandering around the property watching birds. What a trip! There are several local wineries nearby but most only open on the weekends so we missed them but Pamo Valley winery has a wine bar and local music in downtown Ramona. Enjoyed the wine and the music. Highly recommend Surfing Cowboy Ranch! Thank you Bruce and Gail for your wonderful hospitality. Maybe see you in TN!

Peaceful cozy cottage, pretty setting and great hosts!
Had a wonderful stay at Surfing Cowboy. Hosts Gail and Bruce were very welcoming and friendly. Friendly dogs too! The cozy cottage on their ranch was really nice, comfortable, clean, with plenty of amenities. Was very quiet and peaceful. Made a great base for exploring the Ramona area, and close enough to San Diego if you wanted (or needed) to get into the city.

Quick, quiet getaway
This cozy little cabin was just the right fit. We arrived to a nice warm cabin on a cool evening. Our hosts left a delicious sweet potato- pumpkin bread for us. There was a nice selection of coffee and tea for the Keurig. We slept wonderfully, due to the comfy pillows and quiet country location. We will definitely book again.

Weekend Getaway in Ramona
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Surfing Cowboy Ranch. The place was cute with a beach/ranch vibe, which makes complete sense for San Diego. The cabin looked fairly new and was very clean. The bed was comfortable, and so was the couch. We enjoyed sitting on the rocking chairs on the patio at night and gazing at the stars. We even saw a couple of meteors! Gail and Bruce, the owners, were wonderful as well. They left our favorite coffee in the cabin, so it was ready for us to brew when we arrived. The next morning, they left delicious pumpkin bars with butter. Gail and Bruce were very kind and ensured our stay was comfortable. I highly recommend Surfing Cowboy Ranch. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing.

Angels to the Rescue!
Bruce and Gail could not have been better hosts. My daughters stayed with them as a birthday gift from the family. While they were there, their car broke down and they were stranded on the side of a mountain road in the middle of nowhere. We were at home, hours away. Bruce and Gail stepped in and helped the girls find a mechanic, picked them up from the auto shop, and brought them back safely to the ranch. The next day, they let the girls stay at the ranch without an additional charge until their car was done (way past checkout time), and delivered them back to the auto shop so they could begin their drive home. All the while, we were in communication with Gail and Bruce as they assured us that they had everything under control. Thank you so much, the two of you! You are lifesavers, and we appreciate you so much! And by the way, the girls loved your place! We would love come for a visit in the future!

Cute Peaceful Ramona Countryside Paradise
The owner's of "The Surfing Cowboy Ranch" were very communicative and accommodating. It was the perfect little place for my wife and I to explore beautiful Ramona or for someone to work while visiting San Diego; the internet service was strong. The bed and couch were comfortable, the kitchen well-appointed with nice accents, with a porch and sitting area by a fire pit. I/we will definitely be back next time we're in the area! There is a nice, large pool on the property next to the main house that you have access to. The dogs were very friendly.

A Safe Place
Let me just say that the pictures on here do no justice!! It is 10 times better in person. This was the best getaway for my husband and I. The most perfect place to stay at. Such a calming and peaceful neighborhood and best of all the most coziest home. Bruce & Gail were fantastic, so welcoming and beyond attentive. We will definitely be going back, i didn’t want to leave! Perfect get away for 2!

I had such a positive, peaceful experience doing an online silent retreat while staying at this property. The decor was beautiful and attention to detail was apparent. The hosts were extremely kind and supportive. Everything I needed was in the home. The surrounding area and property provided such calm, peace and beauty. I highly recommend this place for others!

Wonderful time! HIGHLY recommend!
This cabin is cozy, clean and everything you want a vacation to be. We felt relaxed among the gorgeous forest scenery and loved that we were not far from civilization but felt off the grid. We really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch and hiking and swimming in the surrounding beautiful areas. (Highly recommend Cedar Creek Falls.) The real treasure, though, was getting to interact with Bruce, Gail and Etirza. They invited us to engage with their chickens, walk among their fruit trees and chat with them. They are all awesome people and made our time there that much more memorable. We wish we could move to that cabin and stay forever! Thank you Gail, Bruce and Etirza!

We recently had the most incredible stay at the Surfing Cowboy Ranch, and I can't express enough how much we enjoyed our time there. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm and warmth of this lovely cabin. The location of the cabin is truly ideal. Situated in the beautiful town of Ramona, it offers a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of San Diego while still being conveniently close. We loved that we could reach San Diego within a 45-minute drive, allowing us to explore all the city had to offer, from the stunning beaches to the vibrant downtown area. Additionally, the charming mountain town of Julian was just a short 15-minute drive away, offering us a unique and delightful change of scenery. As soon as we stepped inside the cabin, we were instantly transported to a simpler, more nostalgic time. The retro kitchen was a delight, and we couldn't resist cooking up some delicious meals while surrounded by the cozy and intimate atmosphere. The cabin itself was perfectly small, providing just the right amount of space for us to unwind and relax after our adventures. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the weather. We were incredibly fortunate to experience perfect, sunny days during our visit. Best stay ever!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed for his birthday for 2 nights. Bruce and Gail made us feel at home and made my boyfriend’s 28th birthday one of the best. We are already talking about another trip next year!! I HIGHLY recommend this place. The property is beautiful and the land is amazing.
