Villa Olive is a lovely property in a very quiet location with amazing views to Croatia and the sea. There are a number of properties here run by Boz holidays and they have staff on site most of the day, Sladjana was very helpful during our stay and the pool /hot tub was cleaned every morning. We had expected to be hopping over the border a fair bit but in reality the time to cross the border can vary from 20 mins (fastest on the way back) to just over 2 hours (longest on the way to Croatia). This meant we tended to cross only once a day. We visited in August - perhaps this is a very busy time.- most times it took over 45 mins to cross the 2 checkpoints. There is not much to do on foot around the property. There is a tiny but useful store’Bonita’ you can get essentials from. The cafe at the bottom of the road did not serve food. The other restaurant that was in walking distance was closed. This left us with a small drive to the petrol filling station where there was a restaurant or about a 10 min drive away there is a popular rustic restaurant called Drijen. This was excellent and extremely inexpensive. Further afield (25mins drive) there is Trebinje. Here there are a couple of large supermarkets and local restaurants, banks etc here.
In Croatia, Cavtat was our favourite place, it had a nice vibe and felt more like a holiday destination. We also did a great boat tour and the zip line which everyone really enjoyed. Kotor Bay is a must visit in Montenegro. It is stunning.
