The smell of rotten piss in the cabin was so strong that we couldn't sleep. The window AC and filter was covered with dust and we could use the ceiling fan either because it was also cover with dust!
Private and charming get away! We enjoyed hiking the marked trails and spent the evening in the hammock seats hanging on the porch enjoying the chorus of creatures in the woods with a quiet fire burning in the fire pit. We highly recommend a stay.
A quick getaway to unplug and reconnect with each other. The rain set the scene for lovely lazy nap with the sound of rain on the roof and the waterfall was so beautiful. It is rustic in that there is an outdoor bathroom and no sink-but if you are prepared it is a lovely time.
Overall we loved our stay here! We love hiking and be outside so this cabin was perfect for us. We enjoyed hiking around the property, swinging in the hammocks, and the minimalist aspect. Additionally, the cabin was very clean and comfortable. Itâs highly likely we will stay here again!
The grounds to this cabin is fantastic. If you like to hike, this place is loaded with trails on site. My son and I woke up early and hiked up a mountain (elephant arch) and had gorgeous views. If youâre into an affordable place this is the one. If youâre looking for primitive with electricity and an outhouse this is for you.
Cabin was gorgeous, well kept and clean.
Area around the cabin was lovely and plenty to do in the area so would suit a quiet stay to relax or someone who wants to hike or take in local activities, that I would highly recommend also.
Communication and ease of check in was A1.
My only small negative at all is that showers were a distance away but thatâs a very negative of an otherwise excellent stay from top to bottom, would go back myself for sure.
It was a beautiful cabin, secluded, and cozy. Just wgat we needed tomrecoolnnect for our 4th year anniversary, we have 8 children, own a business and many other factors so thianget away was enough to bring us closer. Thank you so much!
The cabin was quaint. The property and trails were lovely. But I booked this on Expedia with the listing stating and with an understanding that there was a half bath. There is in fact only the outhouse in the photo. There is no running water. Yes, itâs glamping. Some people would have been fine with that. I expected to be able to at least wash off at a sink after a long sweaty day of hiking. And did not expect to have to walk alone in the dark in the middle of the woods to an outhouse situated at least 50 feet away. With the cost of this place after all the fees (somehow this is a Vrbo listing even though I booked through Expedia) I ended up spending as much as I would have with a hotel room with shower at the nearby Blackbear lodge. Iâd simply not have booked this had I known the amenities. I should have read further into the reviews. By the time I got my check in info and realized the situation it was too late to cancel. VRBO has a no misrepresentation policy which I had hoped to rely on but they didnât feel the difference between a half bath and outhouse was substantial! So, the cabin was cute and trails interesting and even the property manager was very nice but Expedia/Vrbo should have taken responsibility for their mistake. Book this cabin for sure if you donât care about washing up in a sink or using an outhouse- but if those things matter please be aware and book elsewhere.
