The room was very clean and well-appointed, and cozily decorated with local flair in a more B&B style. The one side is all windows with a wide open view of Riverside Park, diminished somewhat by the window screens. What can you do? The location is great for easy walking to restaurants and night life. It also means it is right at the center of the action, so you can expect voices, vehicle noises, and so on to carry a bit into the room when things are active.
I could also hear noise coming the room above me, which is to be expected from an older property like this. Unfortunately, it was the kind of noise you'd expect from a severely inebriated couple, their music, and the dog they thought it would be fun to play with until 1:30 am, at which time I finally had enough. I had texted the number that was used to initially reach out to me for check-in a couple times, but it was late and I was more hoping than expecting them to be up.
I ended up going up to the room above and asking them to turn their [expletive] music down, which apparently was "disrespectful" to wobbly, easily triggered drunk slob who answered the door.
Management said they followed up with them when the finally got back to me via text the next day. None of this is their fault, but I do wish I had some other way of getting this addressed quicker than it did. I lost 3 hours of sleep because of it, which made the long drive early the next morning and work afterwards more challenging than it should have been.
