Mission Beach stay
Overall the place was just ok. The space was nice to be able to spread out and the location was great, right on the bay and within walking distance to some great breakfast places and bakeries. The whole place needs to be cleaned. It was extremely dusty throughout. The floors also need to be washed, walking around your feet got pretty dirty. The washer and dryer in unit didn't work, it seemed like it wasn't even hooked up to power. The fridge also leaked, as noted in other reviews. The cable didn't work, which was frustrating since there were a lot of sports on that we wanted to watch during our stay. Someone came out after we emailed about it but they weren't able to fix it either. Just an FYI, there were mirrors over the bathroom sinks and one in the living room. No full length mirrors though. I'm short and couldn't see below my chin. One nice aspect with it being managed by a bigger management company is that there aren't a list of rules to check out. Wouldn't stay there again

Beachy Long Weekend
The location is outstanding. Walkable to beach, restaurants, boardwalk. Beds are very comfortable. View from patio is divine. Bathroom could benefit from having a privacy fan and better hair removal from shower. Beach chairs were sandy. Parking is tight and really depends upon situational awareness of other guests to optimize space.

Bare minimum
We had what we needed but it was bare bones. For what we paid a bit more “comforts of home” added to the deal would be nice and was much smaller than implied. Sitting on outside deck you are literally with your neighbors. So you are enjoying the porch, or they are, but no separation at all if both parties are out at the same time.

Bayside BEAUTIFUL!!!
Perfect home away from home away from the crowds and noise of the ocean side. Perfect location just a short walk to the ocean and virtually a private bayside beach to relax on. Walk to shops & restaurants and a short drive to the Zoo and SeaWorld. The condo had all the amenities and supplies. Beautifully decorated and super comfy beds. Very quiet neighborhood for peaceful sleep after a busy day exploring San Diego.

Bayside Rental
Great location for this bayside condo, beautifully decorated. Kitchen counter space is limited so it was challenging cooking for the family and no dishwasher. The refrigerator needs to be serviced as it leaked water in the inside, and damaged some of our grocery’s :(. Just a couple of notes: there is no tv in the main bedroom, and very limited counter space in the bedrooms additional bathroom. Our family of 5 had to share the main bathroom but unfortunately the main bathrooms outlets were not working. There was a portable fan provided which was nice to drown out the noise from the neighbors but the fan blade was loose and not useable. The condo was fully stocked with additional linens, and key essentials, The condos walls could benefit from a nice scrub down. Overall it’s a nice condo but I’ve stayed in other surf & sand properties that have meet our families needs better ( traveling w/ 2 adults & 3 kids 16 and under).

Terrible experience for our family vacation
We arrived to the property & immediately contacted Surf & Style property management company via message, stating that the property was absolutely dirty and in disrepair. Visible mold in the bathroom showers, stains on the dining chairs, dents and stains on multiple walls. Also there was a horrible smell in the property. We had no reply from the management company, so we had no choice but to stay in the property the first night. After not hearing from the property management company the next day, we reached out to VRBO about the situation. VRBO told us to take pictures and document everything and they would try to get us a partial refund. After business hours, over 24 hours later, the management company offered to have a cleaner come in. I messaged them and said a cleaner would not be able to remedy the problems going on at this cond… again, I asked for a partial refund… by this time we had to make an entirely new reservation to stay at another property since this one was too terrible to spend the rest of our family vacation in. Surf & Style’s only response to us and to VRBO was that they would refund us a minimal cleaning fee. We were wanting to be fair and only requested two night’s refund of our four night stay, but again they refused. I have stayed in many VRBOs and had great experiences, but this experience was absolutely terrible. Do not stay in this property. It is over priced and very dirty and smelly. So disappointed for what we were hoping to be a happy family vaca!

Great location, cute place, needs a few fixes
The propery was very cute and the perfect location, but there were several things that could be done to make it perfect: - the dryer does not work *drum does not spin - no dishwasher or drain board for hand washing - no counter space in kitchen or storage for groceries, recommend a shelving unit or floating shelves or rolling coffee bar cart, etc - on suite shower door doesnt close all the way and there is no counter space at all. Again need floating shelves or a behind toilet shelf unit - need side tables on each sides of both beds - only had 2 beach chairs - little umbrella for patio would be great

Great spot but no communication, cleaning issues
The rental is really great and comfortable. Nice bedding. However, the pullout couch had no blanket available. The extra down comforter in the closet had what looked like candy stains on it. There was no cover for it. My duvet cover in the king room had a red stain on it. Kitchen and bathrooms looked clean but we found dried food on two living room tables and one balcony table. We asked via email and a voice mail immediately upon arriving at 2pm on Friday for cleaning spray to be dropped of for surfaces with no response. People kept parking in both our paid for parking spots. I texted the after hours number, no response. Finally, late morning Monday, we got a response apologizing saying maintenance was dropping cleaning spray…. No cleaning spray materialized. So….. I think the company needs to train the cleaners more and provide stain removal spot spray for bedding. Also, perhaps have staff monitoring communications on the weekend. It was pretty ridiculous but we enjoyed ourselves regardless.

Great stay at the Bay
This property had a nice layout, was very clean and comfortable, nice to have air conditioning, and the rental service was very good, we had an issue with the coffee maker, and they came right out and gave us a new one which was excellent, thanks for the great service and a fun vacation!

The Perfect Getaway!
My friend and I wanted a quiet place to stay on the beach for a few days off work. This property was the perfect choice! Directly on mission bay, the views were beautiful and the condo was clean and cute. We were glad they have AC and we absolutely loved the mattresses! Super comfortable. Has everything you could need for a great time. Even got to see fireworks from the balcony. The location is nice and quiet, which makes for a really relaxing stay. We did not want to leave! Highly recommend.

Great location!
My husband and I enjoyed the warmer weather on the bay side, while also being able to enjoy the ocean side just a couple of blocks away. There are several restaurants and a small bodega 4-5 blocks away, whci was very convenient when we didn’t feel like driving. Washer & dryer in the unit were also very handy. We loved our stay!

Great place to stay!
The location was relaxing. The bay was calm and peaceful, and the view was wonderful. We could take a quick walk to the ocean directly behind us where it was a bit busier and a fun place to hang out. The location was close to great places to rent equipment and places to eat. The unit was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The only thing I would mention for improvement is to maybe have a few games or a deck of cards for vacationers.

Great location and wonderful views!
The property was clean, as described, well-located, and has great views of the bay. We would definitely stay here again. We were here during a heat wave and appreciated the air conditioning, which worked well. The decor is light, bright and updated. A couple of areas of improvement. The balcony is extremely hot for the first part of the day as it receives direct sun (hard to even sit out there). I noticed the next building over had a retractable awning and that would be a great addition as sitting on the porch in the shade is delightful. There is also not a dishwasher. Not the end of the world, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been without a dishwasher!
