We were somewhat disappointed at our arrival at Donna Nobile. The check in was just a desk in a bare room and a very perfunctory welcome given. The room we were sent to had no decoration and did not look like the photos. The toilet seat was cracked, the shower area leaked quite badly, and we were given paper cups for our cups of tea. It did sour our enjoyment of San Gimignano.

In a great location, with very easy check in and knowledgable staff. Reccommendations given for food and drinks and even a wine tasting- the lady couldn't be happier to help. Room had everything we needed, towels, toiletries, wifi and hairdryer. Spare pillows and blankets. Room also had a feidge, but no drinking water. Perhaps a little dated and no warning signs of steps or low celings! Overall, for a budget hotel it was perfect!

This is not a hotel but a bed and breakfast. We booked two rooms, which had a shared kitchen area. That’s fine but there was no way to lock the entrance into our area so anyone can and did enter our private area. There is no parking on site. The paid parking is a good three block home away. The person that checked us in did not explain or answer our questions regarding the rooms or parking.

Location was good. However, the air conditioner did not work in the room and when we went to find the manager (she was very difficult to get a hold of) she basically shrugged and said they had no fans available. My older son and I couldn’t stand the lack of airflow and ended up walking around the city at 4am just to cool off. The beds are basically roll away and collapse easy so be careful if you stay here. In addition parking is not free as described. Basically they say to take your car to the city’s free parking lot which is not close to the property and was full when we were there. We ended up paying $15 to park overnight. We would never stay here again.

Hot but great holiday

The address is currently incorrect, but the correct address is a few doors away. There is a somewhat narrow time window when staff are present to receive you, between 2:30 pm and 7 pm, unless you make specific arrangements with them. The room and bathroom were fine and there is a common area kitchen. If on foot, the location of the hotel within the walled historic city is fine, not far from the central square but up a hill. Restaurants are also nearby. The bus stop to the nearest train station in Poggibonsi is at opposite end of San Gimignano's walled historic area from the hotel, but still within 1 km. Cars may approach via limited routes but only to drop off and pick up luggage, not to park.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Shower access painfully tight. Some lights in the lounge flicker for a long time if turned off and on again. light globes missing in range hood. The microwave oven power cord runs over the induction cooker to wall socket. The smallest tv ever is provided. No tea or coffee. Host helpful in giving our friends a lift with their bags, and recommendations for eating out. Location is fine. Apartment is clean.

This hotel has several rooms and apartments, some nicer and bigger than others. The pictures on Expedia show many different rooms, so it wasn’t that obvious what ours looked like from the photos. As it turned out, the room did have everything that was promised in terms of beds and amenities, but it was smaller and simpler than we expected from the photos. The location was wonderful, on a very quiet street but only a 2 minute walk from the main street through town. Our room was not very sound proof. It wasn’t a problem because the street was so quiet and our neighbors were not loud, but we could hear a pin drop in the room upstairs.

NO Place probably has on-site prkg including here.

The location was spectacular. The advertisement states "free parking" which is really far away, and completely full. We had to park a bit away and pay, and to get that spot required parking illegally at the hotel and then moving it later after dinner to P3. For an ancient town, the accommodations were great, with two bedrooms and two baths, plus a small kitchen. We could have stayed there a month! San Gimignano is our favorite town, so we would love to come back.

Nice and cosy place. Host was friendly and helpful. He showed us the way to the parking which was a 5 min drive away and drove us back to the car upon checkout.
