The hotel was super quaint. It wasnt like a marriot or a hilton that all look the same no matter where in the world you are, this place has character. I read a bunch of bad reviews before going and it seems that those people didnt read any of the descriptions before they went and wanted it to be just a cookie cutter american hotel. They only do housekeeping every 4 days, unless YOU request it, then they will come whatever day you want. The hotel is 1 block from calle loiza, with a bunch of shops, restaurants, cafes and beautiful street art and a more local and for lack of a better descriptor, upcoming, hipstery neighborhood. 1 block in the other direction is playa ocean park beach, you can wander either direction down the beach an find plenty to do. You can walk down mcleary in front of the hotel down to ashford ave where condado beach and all of the higher end shops and hotels are. There is plenty to do down in that area including snorkeling tours where you can see sea turtles, manatees and all other kinds of beautiful sea life, paddleboard and kayak rental, and fantastic restaurants and shopping. The staff at the hotel were super helpful, nice and accomodating. If you dk have any issues at the hotel, just let them know ans they will take care of it for you immediately. Overall the hotel is super well located, away from the "main drag" and super busy touristy areas, but within walking distance of anything you could want to do, and has soul, unlike the big brand places

Very Poor Stay; Look Elsewhere

My stay was very disappointing. I changed rooms three times due to noise and lack of wifi. I didn’t even get cellular service in my room most of the time and I have Verizon (but did as soon as I stepped outside). My TV didnt work the entire three nights I was there, even though the receptionist said IT would come the following day. Obviously they never did. The rooms are very tiny and dingy. No fridge, no microwave, no nothing. Which made it very hard to bring back leftovers. Overall I think this place is very overpriced for what it delivers. On mainland US it would be worth $80 / night instead of $130-150.

Nice property in a fairly quiet location. Close to the beach and coffee and restaurant options. Convenient for grabbing a ride share. A pool in a small nook for a refreshing dip and a little sun. Little sitting areas strewn about to gather and chat or just enjoy some time. They told us we could use the “hot pool” at their sister hotel a short distance away. We walked down to check it out and it was a fairly good sized pool and the water was nice and warm. We really enjoyed our stay here.

We got there and the entrance is behind a locked wooden door. When it opened there were stairs that we had to drag our baggages up. My friend has her foot in a boot and her knee in a brace. Our room was on the third floor and no elevator. The clerk at the front desk was accommodating as he could be. He put us in a room on the 1st floor. We left and went out for dinner as there is nothing available in the hotel. We returned and there was no wifi, no TV and no hot water in the shower. We stayed up until the hours of morning trying to find another accommodations and get out of there. I'm in the process of disputing this charge and getting my money refunded. Also the gorgeous picture of the pool it's just that the pool is tiny.

Property is charming,a little older and could use some upkeep,touch up paint,etc but the bones are solid,clean and well furnished.Comfortable bed,areas to sit,great pool.Common complaint was spotty Wi-Fi but I don’t go to Puerto Rico to stare at my phone or a TV screen.Had plenty of 5G service everywhere and nearby restaurants had Wi-Fi if you really had to feed your tech addiction.Great beach one block away.Tons of solid eating options within easy walking distance.Have been to San Juan many times and I would stay At Wind Chimes again.Riccardo gets to the hotel in the afternoon during the week and he is The Man to see if anything needs attention.Give that guy a raise.He’s a difference maker.

There is no internet or TV. Curtains were only hung by 2 or 3 rings on the rod and ac created a puddle of water on floor soaking luggage. But we came to go to beach and place is convenient.

The property is cute. Rooms are big enough and beds were comfortable. Shower had good pressure. Lots of dripping faucets, some leaking windows and a leak in one closet of the 2 bedroom unit that soaked some of our clothes. Inconsistent help at the front desk but enjoyed the warm pool at the sister property. They didn't mention at check in that we could borrow beach towels, or that we had to request the room to be cleaned, but they did exchange towels on request. Close to beach and medium walk or short Uber to Condado and Old San Juan. Would stay again, good value and felt safe. Absolutely on your own for parking on the street, but we found some eventually every time over 5 days

BE AWARE. There is a covered bar area in the back. It’s a nice spot to hang out, but sound carries to nearby rooms. A small group decided to smoke and chat beginning at 2:00 AM. Without trying I could hear the entire conversation They lowered voices a bit after I had to get out of bed to speak with them at 2:30 or so. It was better but not quiet and they chose to stay until 3:30. Bring earplugs unless you are a heavy sleeper. Our deluxe king room was large and the AC worked well. We dropped off bags and left. When we returned for the evening, we discovered there was no soap in the room. None anywhere. There was no supplies station in the lobby area. The office was closed. My fault I suppose for not checking for soap before heading out. The floor had not been swept well. It was gritty.

Amenities not correct for this property. This propertys amenities are "combined" with the sister property down the road. Not clean, falling apart, looks like black mold by the air conditioner and in the bathroom. Lots of cracks and plaster falling in ceiling and walls. Day clerk rude. Night clerk GREAT!!! "Stuff" piled and hidden everywhere. No internet. No Tv, no soap. Bar has not been open in years from the looks of it.
