Property has nice scenic views. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Only thing is that it’s far from the airport. If you are going to stay in the resort throughout, then you are fine. But if you are going to venture out of the resort to major attractions, then be ready to pay at least $60 and up( one way fare) Food is pretty expensive in the resort and there are no microwaves to heat up left overs. Internet is terrible there, I had better network in the rainforest excursion I did.

Overall it is a very beautiful and clean resort. Our room had an ocean view and was very clean and modern. The pools were nice and the private island was very cool and easy to get too via the boat. The water park was also fun to spend a day doing. The layout was also very cool and unique. Essentially half the resort is located on top of a cliff and the other half is at the bottom which you access via an enclosed gondola of sorts. All of which has stunning ocean views. Everywhere you looked was amazing ocean cliff views which made for awesome photos. Here is what we didn't like. Essentially because of the location (an hour from the airport) you are forced to eat and spend most of your time on the resort. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the very expensive prices and slow service. There are a lot of food choices on the resort, several sit down places, desert places, smoothie store, cafe and market to name a few. Most of which are all inclusive resort food quality but with the prices of fine dining. Our first night there we went to the taco bar by the pool, we both ordered the steak tacos which didn't come with anything and 1 frozen drink each. In total we spent over $70 and it took around an hour for a meal that was tiny and left us still hungry. After being there just 2.5 days we spent over $900 just on food, drinks and resort fees/tax for 2 people. $125 of which was us renting a bungalow on the island because all the beach chairs were taken when we got there.

We had a great time at this resort. Excellent service, comfortable accommodations, plenty to do within the resort and the access to a private island was a big plus. I only wish the resort offered shows. They did have nightly performers who did a good job of getting guests out of their chairs. I recommend this resort.

Amazing Amenities and Views

We booked this hotel with the amazing amenities in mind for our kids. They absolutely LOVED the water park, though our youngest wasn’t tall enough for the three big slides (she still enjoyed the lazy river)! Coqui waterpark was beautiful, clean and an absolute blast. We also loved taking a little trip over to Palomino island. The views everywhere at this resort are stunning. And they have great extras, like s’mores on the bonfire in the evening. Service was good overall, especially the valet, bellhop and front desk service. Food quality and value was okay but we only had the opportunity to try a few of the options. We would return again for the amenities and to try the golf course!

The good; its a beautiful place, great views and amazing pools with a swim up bar. Staff was mostly friendly. The bad; Our room was really outdated suprisingly and had a mold odor. The restaurants are a 50/50 shot. Parking is by far the most ridiculous setup, and they have the audacity to charge you for being parked a half mile away. There is NO beach. You have to wait 15-45 mins for a ferry to take you to a beach. Coming back you have to wait some more so you and 100 others can take a small funicular 10 at a time back to the top. Wife sliced her foot on a table corner, yet no mgmt called to check on her, (man they remembered the room # to charge the dinner though). What you see coming in is not what you get. We were ok with our stay but wouldnt go back again.

I loved the views. The property was very beautiful. What I absolutely hated was that I am handicap and had to walk up and down 4 flights of stairs in order to go and come. The elevators worked day 1 however I stayed on the property 7 days

On the down side - if you are staying in an ocean view room they are very outdated and the wear and tear shows… It felt dirty. There are many dining options at the resort and the food was good but service lacked everywhere. Would sit 20-30 mins in a restaraunt after being seated with no menu or drink after 10 plus mins. Would be finished eating for a half hour with no sign of our waiter to get the check. Lastly, if you plan on leaving the resort you need to rent a car or schedule Ubers in advance. On the plus side, the property was stunning. There was so much to do… pools, palomino, water park, bars, golf course did not disappoint. Even coming during spring breaks, nothing felt overcrowded. Overall, with the exception of the room being kind of crappy and some dragged out dinners we still had a great time. I would recommend staying, just pay the little bit extra for an updated room.

Our room was in the older section w a service road right below. Service vehicles started daily at 6.30a. Room was very basic (our first room flooded so we needed to switch). Dining options were limited and pricey. The gym is tiny w limited space and equipment for the size pf the resort. No recycling facilities except for on Palomino Island. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Grounds are lovely.

Great stay overall. 4 out 5 only because we were told the room we booked (in the Marina) would have construction in that area beginning around 7am. The front desk was candid about this being a source of complaints for some guests. They offered to move us to another room but charged a $75 per night upgrade fee. The renovation is a right the hotel has, and it's a great place to stay. We love it. This specific issue brings it just one star down from 5 because it felt a little unfair.
