Not a great experience.
This was not a great trip for us. Started with a delayed flight, not the hosts fault, but when I hadn’t received the lockbox code by 2:30pm I message them asking for it because we were going to be without service at check in time. Some of our friends arrived in PR on time and headed to the house at 2pm so make sure they’d be able to access it. The cleaning lady gave them the code and they left till check-in. We land in PR to a welcome message to a different families name and a barrage of messages that we violated the rental policy by checking in early, which no one did. I’m mortified the place has been double booked. We then hear nothing from the host.At one point part of the island loses power, not the hosts fault, but the property is gated and we can’t leave without power to the gate. Message the host about being stuck, no reply. Had to hook a generator up to run a fridge to save our food which we lost anyways. Power returns after 13 hours, still nothing from the host. Night before checkout it’s down pouring. The roofs started leaking on all floors. Water dripping into the upstairs bedrooms, on the floors, in the kitchen and through the light fixtures on the first floor. Message the host and nothing. Finally replies the morning of checkout asking when they can schedule maintenance to check it. Property is covered in motion cameras inside and out. No oven in kitchen as advertised. Hot water is hit or miss. Pool is very nice and location in Rio Grande is great though.
