Not perfect but I'd come back
Even though April is not high season, and despite the recent quake, I was surprised at how hard was to find lodging. Most available ones were either $400 for a brand name hotel, or $50 for a hotel with bad reviews. Choices in the $100-$200 range were pretty sold out, as I was told by phone. At Expedia I found Menorca and I paid in full, even though I found no reviews. Expedia says "breakfast buffet" BUT really consisted of few bread rolls, milk, juice, butter, jelly, and instant coffee and tea delivered to you the prior evening. Fully equipped kitchenette ensuite. Decoration tasteful. Queen bed felt small, so I was glad to be traveling alone. Sofa in living room converts to a bed, but not as comfy as the real bed. Parking OK at no extra charge but you have to ask for the access card. Same goes for ensuite safety box: you need to ask for the key. Neighborhood great, modern, safe, etc., and only minutes to downtown via excellent subway system. Staff were very pleasant, but they close office from 2 pm Sat through Mon morning, but you can always call building's receptionist for urgent needs. The only thing I didn't like was the noise coming from the outside: the building's AC, or water pumps, or whatever it was, hummed constantly. This could be easily fixed by installing noise-resistant windows. It wasn't too bad at night once I closed the windows... plus this type of noise is of the "white noise" kind that actually helps some people to fall sleep. I would come back to Menorca.
