Beautiful, classy, and convenient!

Location, location, location! Everything we wanted to do on this trip was within a block radius! We did walk to the river one night (1 mile), but I was so delighted to find restaurants, historic home tours, a book store, and a tea room in the immediate vicinity. We utilized the valet service, and every worker we interacted with was very nice. I wasn’t expecting daily housekeeping service, but we arrived after our day’s activities to find our bed made and fresh towels laid out.

Great location- walk to everything. Beds were super comfortable. Lobby is beautiful with a great bar and a good restaurant, where we had a delicious breakfast. Staff were lovely and helpful. I thought it would’ve been nice to have free coffee in the lobby. But there was a little coffee takeout shop. We asked for decaf, the girl went in the back and came out and said they were out of decaf. I guess it’s not a big thing in Savannah, but we would’ve appreciated a cup of decaf in the afternoon.

The service here was impeccable From the valets to the front desk. It was a lovely hotel and the bar staff was equally lovely to us. The room was nice. The shower need some TLC and the faucet was loose and ready to come off. We would stay again.

The Desoto was the absolute worst hotel experience we ever had. Let’s start at the beginning. My husband and I were in town for a concert. We arrived around 4:30 pm and being that it was a Friday, a ton of traffic, Valentine’s Day and a holiday weekend we decided to do valet instead of trying to find a parking garage. The guy who helped us told us his name was “Zee”. We gave him a fairly large tip and hoped my car was in good hands. The lobby was pretty but check in was the beginning of aggravation. Raven helped us and she was awful. The ONLY thing we requested was a room away from the elevator. Where does she put us? Right next to the elevator! The door to our room looked like a storage closet. Upon entering the room, we booked a king bed only to receive a queen size bed. Raven insisted it was a king. It wasn’t. We own a king bed, she wasn’t fooling us. Our floor smelled heavily of weed, and the guests above us sounded like they were bowling. We checked out 7 hours later. Security guard on duty was USELESS. She was on her phone the entire time we saw her. Now let’s get back to the valet. ONE girl working the valet on a Friday night on Valentines Day. Took forever to get my car keys back and were shown where my car was. ZEE needs to be fired. He decided to take a joyride in my vehicle, messed with my seat adjustments, the seat head rest, and connected his phone to my apple car play while using my phone charged. Are you serious? This is valet service, not playtime.
