Very nice until I went to get a dish out of the cupboard; the bowl had grease on it, as did a few coffee cups. Frying pans were dirty. Garbage left in the garage. Ice machine didn't dispense ice. Cob webs on the walls. Floors in the kitchen were dirty as was the staircase. It looks like the housekeeping needs to make sure the property is clean & presentable. Outside deck chairs and tables were dirty. I did submit my concern as soon as we arrived; took photos as well. We pay cleaning fees and would expect a cleaner home.
We came to celebrate a few birthdays and have some snow time. House was perfect for our big crazy family!!! We will be coming back again next year fingers crossed.
Home is a mix of original construction and some modifications. It was a little disappointing that there was little to no outdoor furniture to use. The interior was nice and clean. It was more like the little things that were missing. There was an AMAZING fridge. But the cook top was missing a nob. There was a trash compactor in the kitchen. But there was no location for bulky items like a pizza box. There was a large TV and internet, but no streaming device that was modern. Bring your own fire stick or Roku. There was a fireplace, but it didn't draft well and the house filled with smoke. There is also an undisclosed fee that you have to pay before entry into the resort that isn't in the listing. I had to pay $108 and the Vacasa support didn't know anything about it. Also the house doesn't have a hot tub like advertised. There are resort pools that are included in the hidden fee that also has a community hot tub. The master bedroom up the metal spiral staircase has a huge tub with jets, but it takes more hot water than the house has capacity to make. So a bath in there is cold. I would stay there again, now that I know there is the fee.
Let me say this with as clear language as possible: donât stay here. Stay anywhere elseâŠstay in a tent. Sleep in the woods! There will be fewer mice. Stay in your car, there will be fewer bugs⊠but if youâre thinking of staying at Pendleton Ranch, save yourself the thousands of dollars and cancel your plans.
Ok - hyperbole aside - this place was very far away from being guest ready when we arrived. There was trash outside with gooey food residue on the front porch. Things were âput awayâ inside but there was food debris all over the house. All the surfaces were filthy - spaghetti sauce and chocolate finger smudges on the tables and counters and surfacesâŠ.there were chip/bread/food crumbs all over the carpets and floors. Drawers and cabinets are gross - hair and dead bug parts and dirt and 2 year old scrambled egg bits. The furniture is either in a state of disrepair or covered in animal hair. The place is upholstered so unwisely there is no chance of making it look clean between guests. Have fun with the carpeted downstairs commode! In fact - the whole downstairs smelled like rotten fish. Nobody in the group wanted to walk around barefoot or eat/drink from any of the dishes/utensils before manually cleaning them.
At night we had a mix of bugs and mice. Bring earplugs and warn your kids about the scratching and scurrying so theyâre ready for it.
I love Black Butte - Iâve stayed at pet friendly homes - theyâre always a bit of an adventure - but this place should not be in the Vrbo inventory. It needs a major overhaul and a deep deep clean. Vacasaâs gesture was to refund me 4% of my bill - utterly ridiculous.
All in all it was an enormous amount of money spent for a house in a state of deep neglect. Value simply was not there. These owners need to wake upâŠdont say I didnât warn you.
Our much anticipated family vacation to Black Butte Ranch was severely tainted by the infestation of mice we encountered at our rental house. Upon arrival to the front door we noticed a huge collection of mouse droppings in the corner of the deck. Initially, we did not investigate closely and put it off as an outdoor animals scat. The next evening while enjoying a movie in the living room with the entire family, my son notice something scurry across the carpet. Not sure what it was we all kept an eye out. To our dismay a mouse appeared and then disappeared into a cabinet. I had to put a trap out in the cabinet in hopes of eliminating our furry visitor.
Over the remaining days of our stay we found mouse droppings in the bathroom, kitchen, pantry (even on food we had brought), and of course the large mess of poop on the front deck was indeed all mouse droppings.
The house felt like the renter/owner did not take the business of renting seriously. All deck furniture, tables, and the deck itself were dirty. We spent about 20-25 minutes cleaning it. All kitchen drawers had crumbs and junk in them, with no organization.
On a positive note: The house was in a great location. Well stocked with bicycles, the back deck was spacious, and the BBQ worked without any glitches. Gigantic washer and dryer. Numerous board games and cards to choose from.
We will be back next year, but not at this house.
This property is spacious with tons of floor to ceiling windows and lots of natural light. Loved the decor and art work throughout the house- gave it a lot of character. The house was relatively clean but could use a serious deep clean to make it feel more inviting. Overall, we had a wonderful time and will come back. Thanks.
