Vacationers beware. I will start off by saying I made a booking mistake. My husband and I are both in public education and I intended to surprise our family with a trip to the coast over spring break... but I inadvertently booked the trip one week too early (when we are still in school and have parent-teacher conferences).
I began trying to remedy the mistake within minutes of making the reservation. This owner is IMPOSSIBLE to work with. He refused to respond to my messages on VRBO, my phone calls, or my text messages. After countless calls/texts and one plea from my husband, he finally responded to my husband's text (not to me, the person who made the reservation). We spent the better part of a week trying to communicate with the owner. He would NEVER answer any of MY calls or messages, and only occasionally responded to my husband. He tried to put the problem off on VRBO, saying that I needed to contact them to solve the problem (VRBO clearly stated that the issue was out of their hands) ... he even lied about my efforts to resolve the issue within the "make modifications to reservation" timeframe.
I am fully aware that this all started with a mistake I made. But please beware before booking. If you have an issue, this owner is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with, concerned with HIS profits only, and has literally ZERO empathy or concern for anyone other than himself.
Our family is out a considerable amount of money, and he is that much richer, for doing absolutely nothing.
