The gentleman who runs the front desk is absolutely amazing. I had to keep staying overnight for about a week and before check out he would always come and check to see if I was gonna stay another night or if I was checking out, he made every possible accommodation to keep me in the same room. Really great people who run this place we need more places like this.

The Gunn House is a historic inn. Expect older antique furniture and surroundings. The breakfast is home cooked egg casserole, muffins. cake and make your own waffles, plus toast, cereal, jelly, and peanut butter. Hot coffee. Harry was great and not only cooked breakfast but made sure everything was replenished. Quiet and efficient wall heater. Plenty of hot water for your shower. All was very nice.

Great value for the money with Gold Rush era charm

Good value for the money, hotel is built in 1850 and maintains its Gold Rush era charm. You really feel like at a movie set about 1849. Nevertheless it's comfortable, with a/c in every room, very clean. Free breakfast in the morning, all cooked here, hot and fresh. Laundry room and pool. Plenty of free parking and it's on a main street in Sonora which is part of the historic Highway 49, with plenty of things to see and to try. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a historical building built in 1850. With that said it is well maintained and clean. The staff was great and prompt for checking in and out. Continental breakfast was ok. There’s not all the amenities in the room as chain hotels but the charm of this historical hotel was worth it.

Every time I come here I'm always pleased with the prices, each room is unique and has a few antique items that are wonderful to look around at. Also, after traveling through the area and staying at most of the hotels here I'll add, the breakfast is beyond better than any other location, fresh baked pastries and cakes, home made quiche, waffles and a wide array of tea and coffee. This has definitely become my preferred stay in Sonora, CA

I would highly recommend this inn. Great atmosphere, small breakfast upstairs. Unfortunately the sheets were with stains and we found couple spider webs with bugs. Overall great for quick bed and breakfast situations.

Bargain stays with tradeoffs

From outside, it looked great, but my room had no chair only the bed and a few nightstand tables. the hotel keeper turned the building lights off after midnight..it made walking around the property area kinda haphazard for guests coming back to the property after a night out because it was dark. Breakfast food selection not many choices..not sure if I'll book it again next time.

Hoping it's a work in progress

The staff were friendly and the room met our basic needs. If there had been a mini fridge, coffee pot, and cleaner(newer) carpet and bedding it would have been perfect. The hitel is an historic building full of charm.

I like small motels/ hotels with no more than 15 or 20 rooms, I am not a fan of large hotels with multiple rooms. I liked the complimentary breakfast. The room was nice with a fireplace mantel.
