Clean modern cabin with all the little things you need. The kitchen area has enough appliances to make meals, and there is a vacuum and fan in the living area. The peace and quiet was amazing and took a little time for this city girl to get used to. I ran into deer just hanging out on the trail to my cabin. I will recommend to anyone who wants to go about 50% rustic, with a cabin with electricity, but can live without full plumbing.
Retreat from daily living to the woods. This place has the conveniences to be comfortable-- electricity, coffee maker, frig -- but none that distract from the lake, woods, river, and the quiet.
Cabin was clean, and met our expectations. The hike to the cabin was more than these two seniors planned for, and made bringing in our gear a real chore. Water container leaked, so had to mop that up a few times, and ration our usage.
Wonderful property - my extended family rented all 6 cabins for a few nights after a wedding. Cabins are clean and comfortable, property is beautiful, staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed campfires every night and paddling on the river and swimming in the lake.
The cabin was perfect for my silent retreat. Quiet and self-contained, but not isolated, and surrounded by beautiful trees, birds, and other creatures. Definitely recommend!
Great location with many trails. Cute cabinâ and looks more spacious when in person! You can hear the birds singing and trees swaying and its nothing but peaceful. You can see the stars at night. It was just wonderful.
Loved the simple way of living, very nice change!! Loved the concept of no radio, no TV, and I didn't hear one cell phone go off!!! And the beach was absolutely the best!! Wonderful place to unwind from todays world! Thank you!!!
Overall, we had a great experience and felt like we were "at home"! I lost my jacket and the team responded fast and was very considerate! They found it for me and have been great with coordinating its return to me. Great people and a great place!
I'm grateful for the peaceful experience of being at Camp Amnicon. I have been going regularly for 10 years; I'm grateful there's another option for seeing Superior and that Northwoods while avoiding crowds on the west side!
What a wonderful experience! The cabin we stayed in was warm and cozy. The trails were well maintained and proximity to the lakeshore was terrific. We lucked out and had a starry night complete with Northern lights! I wish we had spent more than one nightâs visit⊠we will be back!
Loved this quiet little spot and would be delighted to come back sometime! Had a nice hike down to the beach - property is beautiful. Enjoyed getting cozy in the cabin on a snowy evening after a chilly hike. Nice, clean, comfy space!
The description of this relaxing oasis was accurate and exactly what I was looking for as a two day personal getaway! Very, very simple, warm cabin and outhouse. Donât come if youâre expecting a fancy little tourist cabin- this is the real deal like we up north enjoy. Everything you need (except food) is there for a simple stay. If you plan to âcookâ in the microwave or tiny electric hot plate, bring a few more bits like a pot and mixing bowl or two. (Listing was very clear about what is available and what is not.) Amnicon is a beautiful place, very private, totally silent, and lovely for relaxing and hike or two to Lake Superior.
Stayed 2 nights and had a lovely time in the Amnicom river area. Beautiful hiking on the grounds from the cabin and a near drive to the Amnicom Falls State Park. Close enough to Duluth to drive in and visit as well.It was about 20-25f our entire stay and the propane heater worked really well. We had no complaints about the cabin feeling cold. The bathroom being detached from the cabin was. a bit rough in the cold but manageable.Overall it was wonderful and EXACTLY as advertised in the YouTube video tour from the provider.
