Enjoyed our 2nd stay in the past year. Have family living on island & this is VERY convenient to where they reside, as well as to everything in Cruz Bay.
The villa is comfortable and very clean. Refrigerator is nice & cold, love the gas cooktop, ceiling fan makes the kitchen very comfortable, even made mini-cupcakes in the toaster over (brought my own silicone muffin pans). Would love it if the owner included a couple larger than cereal bowls (to mix salad in). The large window in the kitchen provides a nice view of the water - you can watch the car barges come and go. The wall-mounted ductless a/c unit is in the bedroom and makes sleeping comfortable. Open the curtains that separate the bedroom & living room to let the a/c flow thru, turn on the ceiling &/or floor fans and you will be cooled off in no time! One note about the bedroom - it has a low ceiling (about 6'3"). We had no issues with that though (husband is 5'10"). There is a 2nd, smaller bathroom a step away from the bedroom with 2 small windows (one glass block) so there's natural light. The shower in this smaller bathroom also has decent water pressure. A couple other nice amenities are a medium, soft-sided, insulated cooler, beach chairs, and pool noodles that you can take with you to the beach.
There's a driveway for you to park your rental vehicle, but we rarely rent one. We get our exercise from walking (bring a small umbrella to shield you from the sun!). From Blue Marlin villa, it’s a 5-min walk to The Beach Bar and to Lovango Rum Bar (best pizza on island; crust is yummy, doesn’t taste like cardboard! Charcuterie boards, salads, paninis, & desserts are delicious, too!)…an 8-min walk to Cruz Bay ferry dock and Cruz Bay Landing…a 9-min walk to Quiet Mon Pub and Extra Virgin Bistro…a 10-min walk to Dolphin Market…an 11-min walk to The Roti King…a 15-min walk to Mongoose Junction…an 18-min walk to The Marketplace/Starfish Market. If you’re feeling adventurous, a 30-50 minute, slightly hilly hike along the Lind Point Trail ends at the beautiful Honeymoon Beach. Remember to bring water & snacks, and wear your sneakers/walking/hiking shoes and bathing suit! No restrooms. You can also take a Safari and pay a fee (about $10 round trip per person) to take the beach shuttle from Caneel Bay to Honeymoon Beach.
Conservation, respect, and kindness are key to St. John, USVI remaining one of your favorite places to kick back and relax!
