The location of the house is superb, center of of old town, charming, beautiful winding, cobble stone streets, walk to shops, restaurants, the market and tourist attractions. The pool and back courtyard is lovely. The pool refreshing, clean and maintained, the terrace and outdoor eating area covered with lovely views of other houses and roman ruins, yet very private. The first floor, is very nicely laid out with a small living room with two sets of french doors leading out to the dining terrace, a very nicely furnished kitchen, with a large refrigerator, wall oven, wall microwave, induction cook top, large sink and ample counter-space. Their is a large dining table in the kitchen area. There is also a small flat-screen TV in the corner of the kitchen, as well as WiFi router, Sat TV and DVD player. We were there in hot weather with temperatures from 26 C (mid 80's F) to 34 C (close to 100 F), there was a large fan, and some cross ventilation, but the heat on that level was very uncomfortable in the evening and stifling during the day. The second floor master, is a beautiful space, with high ceilings, large natural wood beams, lovely views, a modern bath (open to the bedroom) with a free standing tub, a toilet and double sinks. The bed is large and kind of 1990's IKEA. there is one very small, very low side table, and a couple of IKEA rolling open wardrobes. The air conditioning on this level is great, a saving grace for sleeping, siestas and the escape from the heat below. And now for the ... The main entry level, is horrible, it is dark, it smells so badly from mildew, that it is unbearable to be down there for long. it has two tiny badly furnished monastic bedrooms ( that would serve someones children more as detention then a place to sleep), very small toilet and sink (half bath), that could have been cleaner, a very nice salle de bain with a large sink and walk in shower, and a stackable washer dryer. Unfortunately you have run in to use the shower and get out quickly because of the mildew smell. We used two and half cans of Frebeeze air cleaner in six days with little avail. We were given a few threadbare, mismatched towels (come on, time to buy several sets of nice towels for your guests to use, I would not give those towels to my house guests and would expect a moderately expense guest rental would do the same). The flatware was a pile of old, worn, dollar store castoffs. Parking is not free or convenient.
