Pros; location was perfect, close enough for a few activities off the property we took advantage of the antique shops, go carts, playground down the road, the Hayward beach for a change of scenery and the “musky museum “ was a huge hit with our fishing obsessed kids.
The lake was crystal clear, depth was great for little ones, kayakers loved having a few more boats to use. (We brought a couple of our own) and the peddle boat was fun.
The kitchen was well equipped. We prepared and ate every meal at the cabin, my daughter only missed having wooden spoons. Coffee bar was a great idea and was used quite often.
The yard is huge, we spent hours on the front deck and around the fire pit in back.
Beds were comfy.
Bonus points for the amazing wood work!
Cons: We happened to be staying on a 4 day heat wave and the portable AC was trying but just couldn’t keep up.
The lake is across a busy 55 MPH highway with a blind hill, thankfully the house sits very far back from the road-we only had a couple of times when a “big kid” (11) tried to cross by himself and we panicked.
The lake depth was great for the little ones, but we had a 22 ft bass boat and had to wade about 200 ft to the anchored boat. Plus, the hassle of bringing the boat back to the house each night.
The cons didn’t seem to matter too much once we got into our time together. Our entire family really enjoyed everything about our stay and we made many fantastic memories!
