The gentleman who checked us in was a little standoff-ish but everyone else was very nice/friendly. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices. The dinning room was beautiful and we had an excellent view of the cathedral and Christmas markets, etc. Our room was on the third floor, but getting to the elevator was on the second floor up a narrow and winding staircase. It was a little challenging for my mom with her bad knees, but the building is old and may have had limitations for elevator access when installed. Our room had 2-3 steps up to the entrance door, a flight of steps to our first bedroom/bathroom, and another winding staircase to the second/third bed in the attic area. I found it charming, but it was certainly not accessible for those with mobility concerns. The location cannot be beat, the building has a lot of character.

Location for the Christmas markets is excellent with the main market square of the cathedral outside the hotel. The rest of Strasbourg markets and sights are all within short walking distance - train station 10 Min walk, boat tour pier 5 minutes, nearest tram 5 mins

Hotel is right next to the Cathedral; great for location but with large crowds. Rooms are very small, no room to open closet door completely or to place suitcases but on the floor. No electrical outlets in the bathroom. Very basic.

exceptional staff from front of house to cleaning. hotel is in superb location ( facing cathedral.) thoroughly enjoyed our stay and no hesittation in recomending this budget hotel . not a complaint but shower in bath is restrictive for elderly or people with mobility problems .

Great location!
A nice hotel in a perfect location for visiting Strasbourg. Our room looked out on the Cathedral during the Christmas market season and we worried it would be loud at night. But the stands close up at 9pm and the crowds go home. Be prepared for church bells at 10pm and to start up at 7am. Breakfast looked nice but it was quite expensive.

Nice space, not good if you can't do stairs because you need to take a flight of stairs up to the elevator, which is not a problem for me, but in case someone else needed to know. But lovely rooms and view and delicious breakfast.

Location of thr hotel was good. Right next to cathedral. Bells woke you at 7.00 each morning! Room (no 7) was an attic room but after climbing a spiral staircsse, going along an outside verandah and then up more stairs, you then unlock to find more stairs up to the room. Very dangerous for anyone with mobility or sight problems.Room extremely cramped, which we didnt mind, but access to the bathroom was limited by those stairs. One false move and you could fall down them! Breakfast was good.

Amazing location on Cathedeal Square. Helpful and friendly staff always happy to assist. Buffet breakfast has a great choice of foods & breakfast room overlooks square below. Room was clean and comfortable. Thought it could be noisy due to location but it wasn't.

Can highly recommend the Hotel Cathedrale Strasbourg with its beautiful decor. We recently stayed here as the anchoring point for our long awaited post-COVID holiday! The absolute plus features of the hotel are the staff: front desk people available 24/7 and are friendly, competent and helpful. Cleaners are friendly, quick, work around your schedule. The staff/hosts in the welcoming breakfast room are also great. Food available is plentiful and varied including eggs, local meats and cheeses, wide variety of local bread and pastries, and jams, juices, and a good variety of hot drinks. As young seniors the stairs to the 1st floor elevator to the rooms were not an issue. (This might be hard for guests with limited mobility.) We signed up for a double room which worked for us but if you want the space of a North American room, you might feel cramped. There is limited vehicular traffic in the square and taxi service is not easy. We used local transportation to get around - a couple of blocks away, the trams are frequent, reliable and it is fairly easy to get to and from the train station and other sites. To our delight, the hotel was located on the main square right opposite the tremendous Strasbourg Cathedrale. The architecture, astronomical clock, ringing bells, tours, pilgrims, enhanced the striking presence inside and outside the church. There are many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and the tourist bureau is also right on the square. Enjoy!
