Somehow exceeded expectations!
Our extended family of 11 were so lucky to find this home! The house itself is even better than the photos. Our kids/teens loved the guest house and the primary rooms were incredible. Melissa was very easy to work with and addressed any concerns immediately. The maid service was flexible and convenient. Driving to Hacienda Panilla was interesting with rough roads etc, but once inside the gates it was beautiful.

First, the owners are the best we have ever delt with and now have life long friends. This is a one stop shop, Melissa will help not only with the property which is amazing, but all your local excursions, food, cooking, shopping, and help you blend right into the local community. The property gives access to eco forest and pacific activities. While you have privacy and security at the property, very nearby are resorts and great restaurants. Saving the best for last is they offer a full time driver, care taker, and cook that we fell in love with…..really. Thank you Melissa, Ney, Yader, and Nico for taking great care of us and our kiddos. Our family had a week that we will never forget. The house was fantastic, the maid and driver and other workers were respectful and hard working, and the beach sunsets were stunning. A family of monkeys entertained us a couple of days. Thank you for providing such an amazing place where we could enjoy our family!

A GEM!
Everything about staying in the house exceeded expectations. The layout is great - we had 4 adults + 5 children & had room to spare. An unexpected treat is that the house is within a neighborhood within a HUGE private property - it is beautiful, secluded & pastoral. Close enough to Tamarindo for a visit but so much more peaceful than staying in town. Definitely appreciated the little details: card games, pickleball paddles, beach towels. Our visit was in June & we had the beach totally to ourselves - very special experience for all of us. Melissa was a great resource & was available for questions/guidance. Highly Highly Recommend.

Pros: we loved the pool and enjoyed the spacious, modern property. Owner was very responsive and listing was accurate. Lots of games to play and ample space in living room with a great sound system for movie night. Little heads up: Beach is rocky as is the ride to Tamarindo.

The Casa Sendero de Mar was perfect for our group of eight. The house was as described and communication with the owner was outstanding. I would definitely recommend staying here with a large group of friends or two families. The bedrooms are spread out nicely so you can achieve privacy when needed. While the beach down the path out the back is pretty, that is not where you will want to swim. The beach club nearby (car or golf cart needed) has a great pool, beach and food. Having the JW nearby (walking distance) for additional restaurant options was beneficial as well. Thank you Melissa for an incredible stay for our first (but hopefully not last) visit to Costa Rica!

Lovely home
We had a last minute vacation and found this beautiful home. The owner was very accommodating! The location is great but about 30 mins. from Tamarindo. You must have your own car if you are going to be touring but it is easy to get to everything in the area.

The house is modern, bright, airy and fully equipped with all amenities. Loved the morning visits by the resident monkeys. Perfect location close to private beach which has spectacular sunsets each night. Beach club is awesome and Playa Avallena is such a great, beautiful beach for surfing and boogie boarding. Melissa is a great host, super available and responsive! Don't miss the waterfall tour and catamaran tour and dinner at Lola's at sunset!

Amazing Stay
We traveled with 3 generations and we had an amazing experience! The house was even better than pictured, we spent hours in the pool and exploring the local beaches tide pools. The house was immaculate and had everything that we needed for a perfect stay. Melissa, was an exceptional host, when issues cropped up (as they can sometimes when you're traveling in a foreign country) Melissa was extraordinarily responsive. We can't wait to plan our return!

Awesome Family Vacation
This house and location was absolutely wonderful to say the least - perfect size to share with 2 families - we enjoyed the short walks to the beach for the beautiful sunsets and morning walks, howler monkeys in the trees and watching the birds in the backyard while lounging in the beautiful pool. The host Melissa was an absolute pleasure to work with - super responsive and always willing to suggest things to do, arrange transportation, etc. The entire process seamless. Absolutely would not hesitate to recommend this house and the host to anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. We can only hope to return one day.

Lovely house and property
The house is wonderful and gorgeous. Great outdoor showers and big open rooms. The seating area is small but has enough for maybe 6 to sit and play a game. The pool is perfect. We utilized it a few hours each day as it was super hot. The outdoor space is gorgeous as well. After a week there - we began to live the peaceful feeling of being in the neighborhood. The beach is close - gorgeous! Checking out the neighborhood private beach is also a must. It’s lovely as well. The only thing would be that all the pans are non stick and scraped off which is unhealthily for the littles. I feel like it’s pretty common in rentals though. Lastly, the owner helped me with all the bookings and coordination for everything via text - super friendly and helpful.

From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the modern elegance and spaciousness of the home. It catered to our every need, providing ample room for relaxation and family bonding. The primary suite was a highlight, featuring a luxurious ensuite with both indoor and outdoor showers, complemented by a serene outdoor soaker tub, perfect for unwinding under the stars. Entertainment options were abundant, thanks to the integrated speaker system in the main gathering room, by the pool, and in the rancho. The convenience of streaming our music via Apple Airplay added a personalized touch to our stay, enhancing our moments of leisure and fun around the beautifully maintained pool, which was a blissful escape during the hot days. The community was a treasure trove of activities, ensuring that there was never a dull moment. Whether it was indulging in the exclusive beach club, exploring the golf greens or mountain biking, our days were filled with adventure and relaxation. This property was all I imagined and more! Beautiful grounds, gated and safe, very short walk to the beach, incredibly helpful host, to name a few favorite things! The host helped us set up a chef for arrival so we didn’t need to worry about dinner plans, and clued us in to all sorts of activities. The on site pool was wonderful!

Clean, quiet, and classy
The property is as described, Melissa was very helpful and responsive. We had a minor issue with one of the ice makers in the fridge, and she had a handyman out within an hour and offered to have extra ice delivered. The house is less than 5 minutes to the beach, and about a 20 minute walk to JW Marriott. Our overall experience was great. I would definitely stay here again.

The Perfect Family Vacation
This was our first trip to Costa Rica. Melissa spent so much time before and during our vacation making sure that our stay was amazing. The house was exactly as we imagined from the photos and the location was incredible. We walked down the short path to the beach every day to explore the tide pools and watch the amazing sunsets. We spent one day at the Beach Club and had a great time. Melissa arranged all our tours and each of them was an incredible experience. Hacienda Pinilla is an amazing area and very safe and secure. The house is beautiful and extremely well equipped. It had everything that we needed. We decided to use the house van and driver Rodolfo, for the week rather than renting a car and driving ourselves. It was the same price as renting a large car for our group, but we had a driver for the week who speaks Spanish and knew his way around. I can’t say enough good things about our driver Rodolfo. He was amazing and I wouldn’t do the trip without having him taking care of us. We have traveled to many amazing places, but this was one of our favorite trips. My wife and kids described it as a magical adventure. Thank you, Melissa and Rodolfo, for making our trip amazing. We will be back for sure! Make sure you visit Lola’s for dinner when you get there. We heard about it from a neighbor, and we went on our last evening there. It’s a delicious restaurant on a beautiful beach surf break.

Compound in Paradise
This is a nearly new house in a double gated area with less than a five minute walk to the beach. The house itself has an optimal layout with each bedroom on a different corner of the house, which provides maximum privacy for the guests. The pictures shown do not do justice to the house. Each bathroom is almost a mini spa on its own. There is an open well-appointed kitchen with a huge island. The living room, dining room and the kitchen overlook the beautiful serene backyard with an infinity pool. There is an outdoor covered sitting area and kitchen, which has a beautiful barbecue and dining table and chairs. The house is surrounded by wildlife. We were only feet away from howler monkeys in the backyard. The house was immaculate on arrival. The host Melissa is extremely helpful and patient and provided us with many helpful tips. The location is extremely safe. It is also very conveniently close to town with many supermarkets and restaurants. Yet, once at the house, you have extreme privacy and peace. Make sure to visit Cactus Restaurant whose owner and chef Albin makes the best food and margaritas and treats his customers like royalty. We had seven people in our group, and every single one of us loved the house. It is easily a 10 out of 10.

Great Stay
Beautiful house in a great location! We enjoyed our stay and had a great time. Would've loved to been able to stay some more days. Communication with the owner was great and she helped us out with everything that we needed. Will definitely stay here again.
