An Excellent Lafefront Hotel

We had stayed at this hotel before albeit 9 years ago, and were pleased to find that it was almost just as we remembered it. The one change was that the room no longer contained a washer/dryer which was a disappointment. However the guest laundry worked perfectly well if not as conveniently. The rooms are large a well fitted though one or two items of furniture are showing their age just a little. The staff were most helpful and I would like to offer a special word of thanks to the lady on the room servicing team who helped me put our heaviest case on the service lift rather than struggle with it on the stairs. we would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Immaculately clean, well appointed accommodation on the lakeshore. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Ample free parking and less than 10min walk to town centre. Loved watching the seaplane taking off from the comfort of our balcony. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely, spacious apartment overlooking the lake walking distance to town. Free parking available and option to purchase continental breakfast ingrediants for NZ $15p/p. Friendly host. Would love to stay here again

Had a great stay at the Fiordland Lakeview Motel and Apartments. We had a large room with everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The apartment was exceptionally clean and had a great view over the lake.

The manager was very warm and very accommodating, thanks to her advise, we manage to change our cruise schedule so we wouldn’t have to make too much effort to reach the next planned destination.

It was great sitting on the patio watching the sunset every evening. It was so convenient being able to walk into town to eat or for a coffee. We had just completed the Routeburn track and appreciated the laundry facilities. It is tough to get a dinner reservation in Te Anau so being able to grill was a savor one night. We will be back.

This place was awesome! It looked like there were two different hotels, one older, the other newer. We stayed in the newer portion. Everything was very clean and amenities were very nice. Views of the lake were great! We’ll absolutely be back!

We truly enjoyed our stay in Te Anau. The view is incredible and the room is spacious. The kitchen and bath feel new and modern, and it's great to have the washer/dryer. We loved being able to walk into town. A few things that could use some rethinking: the weird fake fireplace and overstuffed vinyl recliners were at odds with the room aesthetic; we were greeted with "you're early" (we arrived an hour early after a loooong drive and did not expect a room to be ready), "please don't park there" (I was in the driver's seat with the car on), and "we give you milk for your first day ONLY" (we didn't know/care about milk); there is a window from the shower to the bedroom that you'd need to climb on the countertop to close the shade if you wanted privacy; the hand soap was practically water; the default sign on the door is for housekeeping to skip the cleaning. These are small things that add up when charging a premium price. And they're easy to change (consider having the window shade down in the shower room; greet guests warmly--given your location, they've likely come a long way; skip that liquid soap or don't water it down, etc.).

We were very impressed with this property. The staff was friendly, the room was immaculate. The amenities included soap for the washer/dryer and bath toiletries. The small kitchen had all new appliances, cookware, toaster, coffee maker and teapot. The shower was fantastic! What stood out for us were the two very comfortable lounge chairs. It may sound silly, but we have stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and the chairs in the hotel rooms were uncomfortable at best

The service apartment is really spacious and clean, full of equipment and amenities. Very close to town center and the lake view is just amazing. Would definitely stay again when visiting Te Anau area.

We got a studio apartment at this motel and it was amazing. Great rain shower, washer/dryer in the room. Comfy bed with a ton of pillows - what’s not to clean. The best part was the full room view of the lake right outside sliding glass doors. Also convenient to many restaurants in town, as well as pick up and drop off locations for the Milford Sound tours (Trips and Tramps) and Glow worm cave experience. One of our favorite places to stay in New Zealand. Highly recommend.
