The Sugar Shack is in one of the most beautiful spots on TC. Perfectly located with a spectacular view of the water and the beach. It was peaceful and we felt very safe. The owner Merrill was easy to contact and a pleasure to deal with. About the house: The beds, living room and dining room furniture are brand new, very comfortable and clean. The house and property had more than enough space for our group of 4. The kitchen is fairly well stocked with spices, dishes, cookware, utensils and some condiments in the fridge. Outside: The patio is newly tiled and beautiful with plenty of comfortable seating. The Tiki hut was a great place to sit and relax. The pool was nice, but unfortunately, too cold for all but one of us. (65 degrees) Loved the kayak but there was only one paddle for four kayaks.(we did find another paddle in a bedroom closet the day we left). Door to the blue bathroom drags on the floor if you don’t lift it. There are some water floats and plenty of beach towels. A lot of time was spent on the amazing beaches and the dock. We saw a dolphin, a turtle, lots of small fish, crabs and 4 spotted eagle rays right in front of the dock. A few small issues that we had were that the ice maker was broken, the dishwasher did not work(saw one in the pictures and assumed), the blenders didn’t work, we asked the housekeeper to come back to take care of some cleaning that was overlooked(Shantell is great). The power goes out almost every day but only for a very short period. None of the issues we had negatively affected our stay here. One must take into consideration that Abaco is still recovering from hurricane Dorian. There are only 2 places to eat at on TC. Florence's cinnamon rolls are a must! If you can, rent a boat and captain to take you to the outlying Cay’s. It’s worth it.
