Overall we had a wonderful time at this cabin!
The Pros- We loved that they had sleds to use. And since the property is on a bit of a hill, we were able to carve out some fun runs in the backyard. We also built a snowman and snow fort on the deck. Kids had so much fun! The kitchen table was great for meals and games. Plenty of rooms and beds for all. We were able to cook breakfast and dinners with the pans and utensils provided. It was only 8 minutes to Tahoe Donner and we enjoyed both skiing and sledding therr. Internet and Netflix were easy to access.
Cons- The coffee table was broken on arrival so we just put it in the garage. The washer and dryer was full of wet clothes. Didnât love the shampoo/conditioner/body washâit was granulated and you had to activate with water. Fortunately I had brought some from home but others in our party did not. The driveway is really steep. If you come when it snows, keep chains on your vehicle so you can get back out. The guest passes to the rec center were still more than we wanted to pay with the discount so we opted not to use those.
Overall, it was a solid stay. I really enjoyed their tall windows and loved the view of the majestic, snow covered trees all around the property.
This house was perfect for a weekend of snowplay! We were two families with 6 kids between us (3 infants) and the house was a great size for us to spread out. The large backyard was ideal for sledding - the kids were in snow heaven! Kitchen was well stocked for cooking (although we also took advantage of the delicious takeaway pizza at the community pizzeria very close by). In addition to beautiful views into the forest, the house has a well-loved, cozy feel. Highly recommended!
Nice location and comfortable for 4 couples. Kitchen was well stocked, however, all the closets were a mess. Extra blankets were just thrown in the closets not even folded. The garage was very dirty and full of stuff making it hard to get two vehicles in the garage.Furniture is worn out. We notified the management company when we first arrived and again the following day that the master bathtub faucet was broken. No one ever came to repair it.
We stayed here for a multi-family ski trip and loved the spacious house, abundance of kitchen equipment for group meals, and fantastic location - 7 min to Donner ski resort and 20 min to Boreal. The house was clean and individual soap, shampoo, and conditioner like a hotel was appreciated.
We had only one issue during our stay that was avoidable. I would ask that the property management company add to their checklist a review of the scheduled temperature settings in advance of new guests. We thought the heat was broken our first morning, only to later realize the digital thermostat was set to 40F at 5:30am each morning! Due to the size of the home and high ceilings, it took 12 hours for the heat to rise to mid 60s temp. All of us wore jackets and hats indoors, including a 1 year old.
This cabin was perfect for our family! Check in was easy. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. Plenty of towels, linens and pillows. Lots of games that kept the kiddos occupied at night. The master bed was comfortable. The backyard was the perfect place to let the kids sled and play in the snow. We would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful home for a weekend stay. Located in a beautiful neighborhood just north of the lake. Home was stocked with a plethora of kitchen appliances, utensils, pots and pans. Enough to comfortably make dinner for a group of 10. The fireplace furnace came in clutch. Wood inventory in the garage was enough for two winters. Only negatives were, the outside trash bin was full prior to our stay, outdated furniture, and did not have sponges for dishes. Overall, would recommend!
Clean house. Well-equipped kitchen except for dorm-room sized microwave. Nice layout. Seems a little pricey compared to similar houses we've stayed at in Tahoe Donner but maybe that is just the state of the market.
Location was beautiful. Upon arrival lots of spider webs, and musty, but overall clean. Wear shoes on the deck. It definitely needs refinishing. Check in guide needs to be updated. Overall we had fun, close to everything, teen room was great for the kids. Would stay again.
There were pluses and negatives with our stay at this house. Two positives: Good size home that was well-stocked with amenities; all appliances worked and Turnkey followed up on needs.
Two negatives: A seven out of ten on cleanliness; not enough garbage cans in bear box to accommodate trash for the week when we had large family dinners.
I received an email stating that they always accommodate early check inâs whenever possible. We were denied early check in for no valid reason. We were made to stand on the dusty front porch with black ants crawling all over us - 2 infants in tow - ice chests with food - not to mention we had been on the road all day. When we finally got in 5 minutes after the check in time, we were greeted with at least 500 house flys that we spent a couple hours killing. Also multiple spiders found. It was clear no one had been there in months. The hot water is scalding even though we turned down the water heater temp. Lastly inadequate trash disposal. We noticed a âNOâ magnet on the bear can so the trash wasnât picked up. They said there were blue bags for recycling but there were no blue bags nor any trash cans other than the bear can. The house was clean except for the house flys and garage, front porch and deck were dirty. Also no umbrella on deck so we could not use it plus not enough outdoor furniture. Itâs pretty clear this is primarily a winter rental.
