Great property and highly recommend! Our family of 6 (two adults and four teenagers) stayed at the treehouse during spring break 2024. We wanted a getaway in the Hillcountry off a river, and this property didn’t disappoint.
Our favorite part was sitting on the deck overlooking the river and watching the sunset come up over the hills. We also enjoyed making a campfire in the fire pit and sitting around making s’mores telling stories and watching the starry sky. The remote location means no light polution!
The weather was great in mid Feb (70-80 degrees), and despite it being on the cooler side, all our kids enjoyed swimming and playing in the crystal clear water and fishing in the Nueces.
The house was comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed minus a cutting board and a tea kettle which we let the property owners know about. We also brought our own large cooking pan which came in handy. If you plan on cooking, heads up that the range is electric, older, and very fickle. It takes a long time just to boil water. Not a big deal.
The property manager was very friendly and checked on us every day. The nearest grocery store is in Camp Wood, which is about a 20 minute drive north. They have a family Dollar that has just about everything you need.
Highly recommend this property and we’d stay there again in a heartbeat.
