We really enjoyed this house for our family ski trip to Vail. The kitchen was big and well stocked (plenty of spices, oil, etc.), and the house itself had plenty of room for all 8 of us to sleep comfortably. It was really clean and had anything you could need. It’s really close to the East Vail Blue bus line at Pitkin Creek and getting to and from the mountain was really easy. The check in/check out was really easy and smooth, though the door entry code was 9 digits, which was a little hard to remember and seemed pretty excessive. I would stay in this house again, but would be hesitant because of the experience I had with the management company (Vacasa) and the parking situation not being as advertised.
My two biggest complaint is the parking and the response time from the Vacasa management company.
Response: I booked this property through VRBO and I asked questions about the property weeks before our trip via VRBO (which bus line it was on, etc) and never got a response from anyone at all.
Parking: This house is advertised as having space for 2 sedans, but that’s not really true at all. Only one car fits comfortably in the driveway. The check in instructions stated that we could park a second car in a marked lot at the north entrance of the complex. I COULD NOT find this lot for the life of me. I called the Vacasa management company for help, and they just told me again that it was at the north entrance. I called back again and said I couldn’t find it, and they sent me to a lot that was south of the complex and a mile away. When I got to that lot, there were signs all over that said “Permit Parking Only” and it was marked for a completely different complex. I called the Vacasa management company again, and they told me there should be a permit left for me (there wasn’t). They then said they would send someone by with a permit (they didn’t). Then they called and told me just to “write my name and phone number on a piece of paper and put it in the windshield.” I was not comfortable with that at all and worried daily that my car would be towed. I never did find the parking that was north as advertised, and I was pretty frustrated with the whole experience.
