Sandstone 70 is an iconic complex in Vail. It has full time residents and rentals. Our unit is a short 1 minute walk to the free Town of Vail bus! Or if you want a little more exercise it is a 10 minute walk across the pedestrian bring into Vail.
We screen our renters strongly because we CARE about the property and most importantly the safety of the families we share our 4 plex with.
If you are planning a party please stay elsewhere. We want you to enjoy your party, and we want our neighbors to enjoy their quiet and peace too :) Many of the residents in Sandstone 70 live here full time year around. We do allow some pets but there is a noise ordinance in effect and barking dogs are not allowed and cant be left alone in the place. Again we need to respect our neighbors and the walls are on the thin side. We have a washer and dryer combo but please do not use it past 8 pm.
While we are a pet friendly rental - we do screen our pet owners and pets :) Our neighbors keep an eye out to know how many people are staying and if they have a pet and likewise we let them know when we have a rental. Please make sure to pick up after your pooch if you bring them, don't leave them alone too long and please crate them if they are used to that. Pets that bark are absolutely not allowed. It is in our HOA rules and we will have them and the renter removed for a noise disturbance. If your pet is used to traveling with you, staying alone at times and is a good "renter" they are more than welcome! We live on a farm and love all the furry friends we have! The pet fee is per pet and per stay. Our place is small mind you - but it has everything you need to enjoy your stay and if we are missing something... please tell us! We want you to have a terrific experience! You can see the slopes from the front porch. There is assigned parking for 1 car right infront of our front door. A 2nd spot is an unassigned guest spot and it is first come first serve. This is a cozy ski / bike / hike / stay retreat on free Town of Vail bus route but close enough you can walk to Lionshead too. If you need a place to recover after surgery at the Vail hospital our unit is one level and has 2 small steps you will have to navigate to get inside. Gore Creek runs behind the apartment and in the quiet of the night is a lovely very soft sound in the shared back yard. What we consider the master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two full sized bunk beds. In the living room there is a sleeper sofa too. While it can be used remember we only have 1 bathroom so larger parties are discouraged. Everything is relatively new and we pride ourselves in doing deep cleaning after each season. My husband and I do everything ourselves. We do not outsource subcontractors to do the housekeeping or to manage our rental. We have lived here for over 35 years and raised our three sons here; Colt, Maverick and Steele. If you have any questions about the area please dont hesitate to contact us!

A Great Snowboarding Holiday Home
This two bedroom apartment is very comfortable, extremely clean and is modernly furnished. The owners were amazing with all communications. The home has a well-appointed and spacious kitchen and the living room has a large smart TV that supports both Roku and Apple TV for streaming. I went for snowboarding and walked over to Lionshead base. Both bases are easily reached by walking or using the free transportation. I certainly recommend this property!

What a great location!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo was clean and very comfortable with great windows to let the light in. We loved the great kitchen gear. Nice pots and pans, great sink and stove. Toaster made great toast! And everything worked great. We even loved the spice rack full of spices. That never happens at other places. The bathroom is large and the shower is great. We never used the Fireplace but we did like the TV. We did not watch it much, but the place had everything we needed. Two things that may seem minor to some, but I loved. One was that the owner had things organized in boxes in the closet. I loved that. Everying neet, labled, and organized. And I appreciate that level of organization. Second was any issue we had was quickly addressed. We had an issue with only having one roll and one half roll of TP in the place. I sent a message and boom, we had the problem solved. The other was the TV was having trouble with streaming movies. It got worse on the second day. We ended up just unplugging the TV an plugging it back in and BOOM, it worked. But the owner was very proactive and when we told her our prblem she was very attentive. Turned out to be nothing unplugging couldn't fix, but I appreciated the owner being so fast with my request. Some other things: We were so close to the free bus line. It was only minutes to the mountain, but you can't take your puppy on the bus. You can walk to Vail as well. 20 min. What fun!

Nice place, great location!
We had a great long weekend stay. The unit is very well appointed, clean, and nicely remodeled. Communication was great. It was very convenient to have a local bus/shuttle which gets you to and from the villages quickly. All in all, we were happy glampers:)

Cold condo without any baseboard heat and inoperable gas fireplace for first day.
Our first day in the condo was uncomfortable & a disappointment, the heat was out and it was cold, 57 degrees. By plugging in a portable heater and closing the bathroom and bedroom doors we were able to get the central room to register to 60, the existing gas fireplace was inoperable due to a missing remote. After notifying the management/ owners with a text and 2 phone messages Starting around 8:30am, the baseboard heat was addressed and restored by 4:45. We were shown how to use the gas fireplace by laying on the floor, removing the baseplate, flipping on our phones, and toggling a tiny switch whenever we wanted to turn the fireplace on or off. We were thankful to have that as an option especially in case the heat went out again, which it did not.The condo was very clean, well supplied, and conveniently located. There is a parking spot out front and when standing outside a peekaboo view of the mountains. The master bed was very comfortable with nice sheets and adequate room for placing items on shelves, the closet doors had been removed to facilitate hanging things in the closet. Our adult son said that the bottom bunkbed mattress was very uncomfortable making it difficult to sleep. The bunk bedroom was equipped with a dresser and a generous closet. The condo is compact and every space totally utilized. With the exception of no compensation for inadequate heat on the first day and the inconvenience of starting the fireplace throughout our stay, we had a nice stay.

Perfect stay for a ski getaway
This was a perfect location for skiing vail - about 100 yards from the bus stop (sandstone) to take you to vail center resort area within 10 minutes. The property is cozy but well equipped with everything you might need for a weekly visit. Most importantly the place is clean. Looking forward to staying again next winter!

Close to mountain.
We stayed here with 2 kids for one month and really enjoyed it. The place is small but cozy and had everything we needed. It’s a short walk from a mountain and has a bus stop across the street, although we never needed it. Even our 6 years old walked with us to/from the mountain everyday with no problems. A grocery store is a short drive away. It felt good after a long ski day to get cozy and comfortable by the fireplace with TV right above it. I could cook dinner and be with family at the same time. A few times kids wanted to have their breakfast on a sunny deck with table and comfortable chairs. The parking is right at the front door, which makes it very convenient. Will not likely happen right in village. A big advantage. The owner is very helpful and responsive.

Great location, cozy place
Two adults stayed for 4 nights to ski. The townhome is in an ideal location for bus service and walking to Lionshead. So nice to park the car 5 feet from the door to haul suitcases, skis and groceries. Well supplied kitchen and bathroom. Cozy living room - the gas fireplace provided great warmth and ambience. Great to step outside and see Vail skiers on the slopes. Our only complaints: the beds were not comfortable, and the wifi not very strong. (We had to work one day, and had to have all devices and tv off wifi to conduct business).

Perfect Vail Ski Trip Spot!
We had 4 adults staying in this property and it was the perfect size to accommodate all of us. We had everything we needed and the location was awesome. Just a minute walk to the bus stop to take you around town or a 15 minute walk into Lionshead village. Mariella was so accommodating when it came to questions we had about the property. Everything we needed to make meals. Clean! Bus stop ((Redstone) bus stop right there even my little guy can carry his ski/poles to bus stop. Stops at Vail Transpo Center, walk down by Gondola 1 OR hop on inner town bus to Riva Bahn Express Lift OR Born Free lift. Great Location and Amazing Host
We stayed at the condo just for a couple of days during my Birthday skiing trip with friends! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again! The location is perfect, just 5 min away from Vail Village, there are a few grocery stores just two minutes away, bus stop, and two parking places. The condo was very clean and cozy, it had everything we needed and even more! We really enjoyed the bedding and especially a sofa bed in the living room, it was very nice to see the movies after long day skiing and traveling. However, the most awesome part of this rental is its host Mariella! She was super accommodating and responsive, she answered all our questions, gave great recommendations and provided all necessary information for our stay! Highly recommend, you won’t regret it!!!
