My significant other and I vacationed in Valley Cottage to visit Sleepy Hollow. I chose Valley Cottage to save money, as it had a washer and dryer, but we ended up spending much more on tolls and Lyfts/Ubers.
**Pros:** The neighborhood was quiet and beautiful, a nice size place with a local mall nearby.
**Cons:** There were no clear directions on how to access the property aside from "keyless entry." In Texas, entering through the gate door with no sign could lead to unpleasant encounters, so this was concerning. The management's responses were unfriendly. I’ll upload screenshots if possible. The place was **dirty**!! From the washer, to the restroom, and to the floors. I’ll upload pictures if I can! We paid for this stay, so we expected a clean environment. At one point, I even considered switching to a hotel in Sleepy Hollow, but it would have cost an additional $500.
Additionally, it costs $10 each way to cross the bridge into Sleepy Hollow, and Lyfts or Ubers ranged from $20 to $40 one way. In hindsight, you're better off paying the extra money to stay closer to Sleepy Hollow to avoid these additional costs.
