The location of the property is good with access to the marina and boats can come directly to the rental. The property has an unsafe step down from the dock to the doorstep of about a foot. The amenities are good with all appliances.
The property had a couple items that were not working, first the internet and second the shower was leaking from the shower head. I sent a message to the property owner first about the internet and he responded he would send someone in the morning to fix. No one showed up and when I contacted the housekeeper she said she was unable to get there. No response from the property owner. I asked him to fix the shower head as I did not want water spraying out of the shower, very important after a hot day of fishing. He never responded. We used the shower best we could. I messaged him after our stay asking him if he wanted to discuss prior to my leaving a review and his response was, “ it's a fishing camp and I live 3 hours
away. Are you a man or a or a habitual
complainer.” (copied from the response). I don’t consider it a complaint to ask if they can fix a broken shower or a non functioning internet service. Response also commented, “ I don't control when a Fortune500 satellite service goes down, nor when a shower head happens to springs a leak, which is what they are designed to do.”
I replied that a shower head is important. Had the owner responded and apologized for the inconvenience I would have been ok but I can’t accept an insult. I liked the rental for what it is but I would not expect anything beyond what you get, even if it is listed as an amenity and not functioning. Very rude response from someone I am giving money to.
