The A/C was broken during one of the strongest heat waves in DC. Trying to communicate with the home owner was difficult as the response time was lacking. Finally after being in an 80â degree house we turned the home owner we were checking into a hotel and wanted a refund. The home owner promised that we would get a refund and has yet to deliver. We are now in the process with VRBO in battling for our refund that was promised to us.
The P location was ideal to catch the bus to the Mall and all the great things to look at and explore. A couple of things need improvement: 1. More clarity that the bathroom was only accessible through one of the bedrooms and 2. A guide that shows which wall switch activates the electrical plugs would be a great addition. We never could get the living room lamps to work.
A great neighborhood with a Whole Foods across Logan Circle.
-Having at least enough coffee in the kitchen to brew on the first morning is gesture that I appreciate.
-I was unable to use the bedside lamps in the MBR. They were not plugged in; I couldnât find an outlet on that wall.
-Being technologically challenged, I could have used some basic instructions on TV usage.
-Outdated magazines are not a plus. Iâd rather have none.
Exteriorly, a little Round-up on the weeds growing between the bricks would be a good idea.
Comfortable, quiet, great neighborhood close to National Mall
A beautiful townhouse on 1st floor, all amenities and wonderfully comfortable beds. Close to markets & restaurants, Easy pick up for Uberâs or bus and metro within walking distance on beautiful Loganâs Circle. Hop, skip & jump from National Mall.
We really enjoyed this place. It was very clean, nicely furnished, comfortable and quite cozy. It was a perfect "home away from home". Since we stayed in October, temperatures were not an issue, but I noticed ceiling fans that should help if the temps get warm. This end unit gets plenty of natural light and the high ceilings make the unit seem larger than it is. The location is great: a bus line is one block away and the Mount Vernon Square metro station is just over a half mile away with direct service to the Reagan Airport and connections to multiple other lines if you want to go exploring beyond the city. The National Mall is a straight 1.5 mile walk down the street, and many other attractions are within a 2 mile or less radius. The surrounding area offers multiple eateries and small stores, including a Whole Foods and a Starbucks 0.3 miles away. Although it experiences a good deal of nearby traffic, the unit itself is quiet and has a genuine neighborhood feel. The bed was very comfortable and firm enough to keep my back happy. Check in was very easy and the owner communicated in a timely and friendly basis beforehand making us feel welcome and sharing some tips about the neighborhood. As mentioned in another review, be aware that the only bathroom is accessed through one of the bedrooms. (Love the white fluffy towels!) My only concern was minor. We tried to contact the owner a few times through the VRBO app (our previous avenue for communication) about a couple of minor issues over our 5 day stay and only received one brief response that didn't really address my questions. In his defense, I did not try to call him directly. Overall, I would definitely recommend this unit for your DC adventure.
A nice, old brick apartment just off Logan Circle made this a central launching pad for our family trip to D.C. We walked to Whitehouse, the Capitol, Dupont Circle area and more. The apartment is not particularly near a metro station so if thatâs important, be sure to map it and be ready and capable for probably a 10ish minute walk. We didnât mind but for others not as interested in heavy walking, that might be less appealing. Owner was very responsive and easy to work with as well as accommodating for special circumstances on exit. Furnishings are all seemingly quite new and stylish. Kitchen is small but with full size fridge and stove. Kitchen supplies are basic and can get through take-out food, basic breakfasts, etc. Would benefit from a toaster and some pans suitable for the oven. Note that there is one bathroom and the only way to access it one must go through a bedroom. For a family not a big deal. Couples or friends may feel differently. This rental is no fuss and worked well for us.
Comfortable and convenient space on Logan Circle. Short walk to museums, memorials and monuments. On-street parking is a problem.
2 hour and long term parking (between 10pm and 7:30) available available within a couple of blocks. Left car in overnight garage and walked during our 3 day stay.
