First, my family rented this property for New Years week, with my two children (9 & 2), the grandparents, greataunt & greatuncle, a cousin and her son. We enjoyed the trip; however, I would not rent the home again and became frustrated at the issues we dealt with and in overall quality of the home. First this is NOT a six bedroom home, which posed a big issue for my family for a couple reasons, we needed 6 bedrooms due to the number of people and with half of the guests being elderly - stairs were an issue. The 6th bedroom is actually an office at the front of the house with an attached bathroom. The sofa pulls out to a very low quality pullout bed. To even pull out the bed you have to move a VERY heavy desk and table out of the way, which given the size of the room, you can barely get around the bed to the bathroom once it is pulled out - I was told it would pull out without moving anything. The mattress was no more than 5 inches thick and there was not adequate bedding available and with the bed only 18 inches off the floor, it made for a very tough time for an older couple to sleep. This should NOT be being advertised as a 6 bedroom home and disclosure should be made regarding that rooms issues.
This is home is being marketed and charged as a premium property, and while aspects of the home & property are premium, there are a lot of issues that take away from the home and a future renter should be aware. The main kitchen (upstairs) is very small and the configuration is not conducive to any serious cooking. For instance the stove, which is gas (good) is hindered in its use by a microwave installed directly over the stove at such a low hieght that you cannot use the back burners with any decent size pot (4 qt or bigger no way..) because you cannot stir anything - cooking new years day meal was very difficult even with 2 stoves (downstairs has same issue). There were several general maintenance issues I found througout the house, doors that the knobs would not open, even resulting in locking my child in the master bedroom. Other areas needing painting, repaired, etc... that took away from a "LUXURIOUS" feel as marketed. the home needs some TLC and a bit of attention to detail in order to warrant the rates being charged. I took pictures and documented many of the items that should be addressed if the owner would be interested.
