The listing pictures don't actually capture the reality of the place. Its old and dated. We only needed a place to rest our heads and bodies after a long day of hiking but that was not to be. The mattress had a divot on both sides from years of use. It sags towards the middle so the lumbar never gets a chance to rest. You have to make your own bed with sheets that are one size too small. the mattress cover has a stain on it that looks like food...at least I hope that is what it is. The struggle was real. The pillows are flat and smelly. I could not get any support and had to get up and take a zyrtec because of the itchiness I would get from the dust when turning them over. The second night I covered it with a towel before laying on it. The rug is a dark one, the better to cover up how dirty it gets. The coffee machine is newer and the $$ would have been better spent on new bedding and new pillows. Its a really deserted place most evident at night, when you are pulling in to an empty lot. I'll never rent anything in Harborside nor from Bellevue By The Sea, ever again.
Husband and I have wanted to come to Maine. Was a good stay, though the weather did not cooperate except for one day. Place is small but worked for what we needed.
For two adults it was as advertised- comfortable and clean. We loved the location a few steps from Wells beach- which is beautiful and less crowded than others. Our view of the tidal pool was perfect as I am a birder- there is even a bald eagle that perches across from a restaurant. It is convenient to places to eat, shop and other beaches. Nearby Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge and Wells Reserve at Laudholm have family friendly and educational hiking trails. Despite the cool and cloudy weather we enjoyed a dry porch for relaxing, our walks on the beach and reading by the ocean.
