Loved the location! Walk to Mambo Beach, the entertainment district. Shopping, food, music, beaches all 5 min. away. On-site Cabana Beach was a delight and Mood Marina restaurant was the best. My suite was excellent with its plunge pool and patio. Nice for adults with no children and solo travelers. Guests services took care of all my needs. Highly recommend Kontiki Beach Resort to everyone. But be forewarned, this resort caters to younger families, parents traveling with babes in arms. Crying babies in resort resturants, at beach, and the beach spa was disturbing at times.

Kontiki Beach Resort was excellent! It looks just like the photos on the website. Lovely setting and our room was a very short walk to the beach. This resort is definitely worth staying at!

The property and location was very good however the staff can be a bit clueless about certain things especially if you do not speak Dutch. We were sent to a restaurant that was already closed by the time we get there plus when we asked for a late check out we were never informed that there is a fee to do so. They made it sound like it’s complimentary but they later charged us per hour which wasn’t disclosed to us when we requested it. This is just not right way of doing business.

Ok so overall I’d give our stay at Kontiki 8/10 ! High points are the resort is absolutely beautiful, the beaches are on site and they’re breathtaking. The restaurants and all were also very beautiful. Another thing I loved is the staff is very attentive, they write you on Whatsapp to check on you during the stay & they were flexible with our checkout. They lost a whole point from me because the Tropical Superior rooms are a bit underwhelming. The room is a bit outdated, TV was old and small, and there were a SWARM of ants in our shower and bathroom floor. That extra 1 point I deducted because it made my skin crawl a little bit. They did send cleaners to try & resolve it the next day, but they hadn’t cleaned it all, even thought it kept reoccurring, I still appreciated the effort from the concierge not so much the cleaners as they didn’t do much to fix it. So yes they definitely need a bit of renovation for the Tropical Superior room. Overall, it’s a really beautiful resort and island. Great employees ! I would stay here again for sure, just in a different unit.

Great property and great staff. Nice location on the mambo beach strip. It’s more of a fun/louder area, so as long as you’re ok with loud music like we are, you’ll be fine.

We had a wonderful stay at Kontiki. We stayed in the luxury suites and they were gorgeous! Carol, in housekeeping was so attentive and kind. Maud, who we had for beach service, was hard working and made sure I always had a Pina Colada in hand. All of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and no ask was to much. Our only complaint was the noise. The luxury suites were in front of a club that had a dance party two of the four nights we were there. They promptly stop at midnight but it was really just too much. They provided ear plugs but they did little to drown the noise. Overall an amazing get away and if you’re into dancing the night away this is your place!
