My wife and I stayed for a week here and had zero complaints about the property. It was very nice, spacious, well outfitted and everything worked. The bed was comfy and overall, we would stay here again with no reservations. I either missed it or didn't realize the property is in a holiday park. This did not affect our stay in any way though. The host was gracious, accommodating and very responsive.
The location is such that I would recommend anyone staying here have their own transportation, which we did not. The local taxi services are good but you need to book at least a couple hours in advance. There is a bus stop very close to the entrance of the park but we found the bus service to be less than ideal. The one bus we needed to go to Keswick was frequently full and only ran once per hour. One day we waited 3 hours to get the bus to Keswick.
We were surprised by the amount of people in and around Windermere. We were there in 2017 and it was nowhere near as crowded. Even with streets full of people, all the shops close by 5pm so you have to be up and out early to get any shopping in. Pubs and restaurants stay open and are plentiful.
