Beautiful property, but dirty
We recently stayed at this beautiful property, and the location, size, and amenities were all wonderful. The casita was a great addition, and the layout gave us plenty of space to relax and enjoy. Overall, we had an amazing weekend and appreciated the stunning surroundings. However, we did encounter some issues that impacted our stay. Unfortunately, the house was not as clean or well-maintained as we expected. Upon arrival, the trash cans were overflowing, and there was scattered trash near the front gate. We also had to purchase our own trash bags as we couldn't locate any in the house. There was a lot of dust and dirt on several surfaces (dishes included), and the toilet had visible rust. There were a few maintenance problems as well with the main bathroom door not shutting properly, limiting privacy. The pool area was not cleaned, which was disappointing since it was one of the main reasons we chose this property! We also experienced a strange odor in the house. It’s unfortunate that the cleanliness and upkeep fell short, especially given how beautiful the place is! Despite our concerns, it was a fantastic trip - the house just needs a little love to make it an exceptional stay.

Family Reunion 2024
This was a family reunion with family from the Bay Area and from the UK. We have stayed at this property before, and we were pleased with the upgrades to the kitchen area. Our stay was magical. The privacy in the extensive grounds, the beautiful pool and well-appointed house set the scene for a great visit. Minor problems with the pool and hot water were attended to immediately by the property management team. We are recommending Estrella to friends who are looking for a similar arrangement

This property is in an ideal location. The grounds are beautiful. The hot tub jets were not working and we weren’t advised of this prior to our visit. The house is plenty big for our party of 9.

Vacationing in Windsor
The location is excellent for visiting many wineries. Very comfortable beds. Comfortably sleeps 12. Linens in great shape. Household supplies were plentiful. Plenty of seating. There is a strange odor Floors could use a good cleaning.

Beautiful Property With Unexpected Layout
There are many positive things to say about Estrella. The property is lovely, with a lemon tree and rosemary bush that contributed to some wonderful dinners. The gathering spaces (kitchen, living room) are great for a large group (we had 8 people). The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. I only gave 3 of 5 stars overall for two reasons, the primary one is the layout of bedrooms 1 and 2. Look closely a the floor plan in the listing to see that you can only access bedroom 1 (with the king bed) if you go through bedroom 2 or if you go outside and around the back. You have to be pretty comfortable with the guests in bedroom 2 to go traipsing through their bedroom all the time. The second reason for reducing the stars is the fireplace, which unknown to us until after we lit a fire, had a broken flue and resulted in significant indoor smoke even though we put the fire out as soon as we realized what happened. Other small things that are easily fixed include installing the dishwasher so it does not tip forward whenever loaded, fixing the fireplace switch in bedroom 2 so it is not hanging off the wall, and such. In the end, the property worked well for us, and earned a solid three stars.

Birthday weekend
The grounds were expansive and the location was great but the property and house need some love. There was lots of space for our party to explore and hang out on the property and everyone enjoyed the pool. The kitchen, dining and living room areas were nice. The master bedroom has to be accessed via walking through another bedroom unless you want to jump over a little fence to get to it from the outside. There is no shower in the master, so you had to walk through another guest room, out to a hallway bathroom off the dining room to shower. It’s well water so had a tinge of sulfur smell, more so in the casita than the main house. The pool and hot tub were old but no issues and were nice to have. Overall pretty disappoint about the cleanliness… three of the rooms of the house smelled of cat urine and our feet turned black after walking around on the “freshly cleaned” floors right after our arrival. Lipstick marks on clean glasses and weird stains on clean sheets. The communication with Avant Stay who manages the property was good for another issue with the property. Totally fine/unique property, but not for the price we paid and what we expected.

A slice of paradise
We came to Estrella to hang with family and friends, away from crowds this holiday weekend and it was everything we could have hoped for. The property is enormous! There’s ample parking and hangout spaces indoors and outdoors. We sat 12 for a late night movie on the sprawling couch, and where a garage may have been was a covered outdoor space with even more couches. The pool area looks like a Bali getaway with ample seating and an outdoor grilling area. The massive kitchen is capable, the dining area spacious and beautiful. Our gracious hosts made sure we had everything we needed and that there were no unexpected surprises. Linens were clean, extra bedding provided, plenty of towels, and the dishware was clean. The shuffleboard was freshly powdered upon arrival and the climate comfortable. Those with allergies should bring medication though. The property is fairly remote, though about 5-15 minute drive from various shopping areas. I had requested the hot tub be started ahead of arrival because it gets a bit chilly early in the evenings, and when we arrived our hosts had just finished readying it for us. The pool was warm enough, even in the moderate temps this time of year. We asked ahead of time if we could bring a 880 sq in electric smoker for outdoor grilling and they were fine with it. Overall we had a wonderful trip and I recommend this as your large group’s home away from home.

The home is large and has great space for hanging out. The pool and grounds are peaceful. The playground could have been very nice but the grass around it was knee high. If you are going to say you have a playground please make it usable!

Annual deviled egg contest for Easter
This oasis property spun a refreshing twist on a family tradition of celebrating Easter with a deviled egg contest. The pool and hot tub nestled in an idyllic nature setting with hawks and woodpeckers chiming in made for the perfect venue to unwind and relax. The kitchen had every utensil and pot and pan we needed to make fabulous meals and work our magic crafting unique eggs. There was even Tupperware for leftovers and foil and ziplocks (which may seem minor until you’ve rented a place for a weekend without them!) There were games, puzzles and a shuffleboard table (we never even touched the huge screened TV!) - even a turntable to bring us back a few decades. The set up of the bedrooms was perfect to house a large party (6 bedrooms) with enough space between so you could join the party or have quiet time on your own. The property is far enough from neighbors so the peaceful quiet of the night and stars is uninterrupted. If you’re inspired to leave the property, the surrounding properties are beautiful for a neighborhood walk with friendly families, horses and dogs. And if you’ve forgotten something you need from the store or want to explore the cute downtown of Windsor - it’s a 3 minute drive, not to mention you are in the heart of the best wine and food county in the world (but I could be biased!)
